Other 3 Xiaomi Smartphones Ready to upgrade to Android 7 Nougat

After the beta version of Android 7.0  has got great results on it Xiaomi Mi 5, as the system runs flawlessly and smoothly, the Xiaomi company is trying to offer the update to most of its devices. Of poco is the news that three other smartphones will join the sample of MIUI updates based on Android 7.0.

The first advances began to run on the net a few days ago when the user  @RanGer, Operation Manager MIUI, has posted a post about four smartphones of Xiaomi home ready to receive the update via OTA. Later, always on social Weibo, the same user announced the name of three more lucky smartphones:

  1. Xiaomi Mi Max
  2. Xiaomi Mi 4c / 4s
  3. Xiaomi Mi Note

As for the Mi 5, the MIUI version based on Android 7.0 will be the Developer (Alpha), which translates into a first release for the 3 smartphones mentioned above as a test to then fix any bugs and subsequently release a version Global stable. This Android 7.0-based update will also be done via OTA (on-the-air) or via the app We Updater. So just as it did for Mi 5 the update will only be available to a limited number of users via official invitation.

Here are some screenshots regarding the update appearing on the official MIUI forum:

The Xiaomi Mi Max and the Mi 4s are smartphones released at the beginning of this year while the Mi 4C is a mid-range phone of 2015 as well as the Xiaomi Mi Note turns out to be the top of the range of the company of 2015. This indicates that Xiaomi is testing Android 7.0 Nougat on smartphones with not very recent release before starting the rollout for the most recent smartphones of 2016.

It will come as no surprise when the Xiaomi Mi Mix, Mi 5s and Mi Note 2 will receive the update to Android 7.0 but for the RedMi and Mi 4 family a switch to Nougat is hopeful. Surely many other Xiaomi smartphones are still stuck at the Android 5.1 version and perhaps even for them the surprises will not be long in coming.

The news, however, will have to be detailed as it seems that and chipsets Snapdragon 800 and 801 are not compatible with the Vulkan API integration found on Android Nougat. But also Lenovo from January 2017 will release updates to Nougat for some Zuk models, such as the Z1 which is also powered by the Snapdragon 801 like the Mi Note.

But then are just rumors to make news or companies have found alternatives to upgrading these devices? Well, you just have to stay with us to find out.

Nothing prevents you from compiling Nougat for smartphones with soc 800/801, Cyanogen already has a CM14 Nougat rom for MI3 / 4 but without the updated drivers, thanks Qualcomm, the Vulkan APIs are not active and therefore the rom does not pass the quality tests by Google could not be used by OHA OEMs. This limitation loses some meaning for Chinese Roma obviously, everything lies in the will of Xiaomi.
