Today we're back to talking about earphones, and we're doing it with the SuperEQ brand, which we know in part because it belongs to the more famous OneOdio. Today we're discovering the 802, open-ear earphones, or air conduction earphones, whose uniqueness doesn't stop there; they come with a charging case with a color display. I'll tell you about them in today's review.
The SuperEQ 820 earphones come in a cardboard box, pre-installed in a charging case with an LED display, a USB-A/USB-C charging cable, and a user manual (unfortunately only in English and Chinese). They're made of high-quality matte plastic and come in two elegant colors: black or beige. The earbuds have an ergonomic shape designed to sit securely in the ear without obstructing the ear canal, keeping you aware of your surroundings. Given the nature of the product, there's no ambient noise cancellation, but the design offers excellent stability even during even the most intense physical activity. They boast IPX4 certification, meaning they're resistant to sweat and splashes of water.

The case is compact and sturdy, with a magnetic lid and a built-in hall sensor, but the real highlight is the integration of a 2-inch IPS touchscreen display. The display shows the battery status of both the case and the individual earbuds, but by swiping we can access other functions, such as controlling the smartphone camera, managing music controls, activating a timer or stopwatch, enabling game mode, spatial sound, or ENC for calls, which through four microphones will offer truly crystal-clear audio. We can also choose which audio preset to use based on the multimedia content we are listening to. Finally, on the back edge we find the Type-C port for charging. Wireless charging is not available.

Sound is delivered via air conduction, but SuperEQ engineered the 802s so that the driver faces the ear so the sound doesn't leak. The sound quality is very good: high and mid-range frequencies are well-defined, while bass is surprisingly present considering the open-ear design. In very noisy environments, you can activate ENC mode, which raises the volume to improve listening, although it doesn't completely isolate external noise. During calls, incoming voices are clearly heard, and the other person doesn't seem to be too sensitive to any ambient noise. Audio-video synchronization is also good, allowing you to enjoy movies and TV shows without annoying delays, thanks to a Bluetooth 5.3 module. However, it doesn't offer multipoint connectivity or special codecs, but I repeat that the sound is excellent for the price range, relying on 17x12mm dynamic drivers.

The connection is stable and fast, and pairing is instant. Each earbud offers up to 6 hours of battery life on a single charge. The charging case provides a total battery life of up to 30 hours, while it takes 2 hours to fully charge. The LED display on the case helps you keep track of the remaining battery life. Touch controls are also available via a small touchpad on each earbud.
The SuperEQ 802 are available on the Official site They're priced at $31,99 (about €27 at the current exchange rate), but you can get a 10% discount by signing up to the mailing list or purchasing them through AliExpress, which offers them for around €25. In any case, a nice price for open-ear headphones with good sound, battery life, and a display that makes them seem like they're straight from the future.
