Xiaomi 17T surprisingly certified: launch expected as early as February 2026

Xiaomi Xiaomi may be ready to surprise the market with an early launch of its upcoming “T” series. According to XiaomiTime, two new devices with model numbers 2602EPTC0G and 2602EPTC0R have been spotted in the IMEI database, and everything suggests that they are the future Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro.

Xiaomi 17T surprisingly certified: launch expected as early as February 2026

Xiaomi's "T" series has historically been considered the global version of the Redmi K models, designed to offer high performance at a competitive price. Previous models, such as the Xiaomi 15T and 15T Pro, were launched in late September 2025, but the "2602" prefix in the new model numbers suggests a possible launch as early as February 2026, several months earlier than the traditional cycle.

Another interesting detail concerns the naming. After skipping the number 16 in the main series to align with the iPhone 17, Xiaomi could do the same with the "T" range, moving directly to the Xiaomi 17T. This change in strategy could signal a desire to standardize global communication and strengthen the brand's positioning.

On the technical side, initial rumors suggest a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chipset for the base model and a Dimensity 9500 for the Pro. This represents a significant generational leap compared to the Dimensity 8400 and 9400+ used in the 15T series, with improved performance in gaming, AI, and power management.

The internal codenames of the two devices would be “chagall” and “warhol”, in line with Xiaomi’s tradition of using artistic references to identify its models in development.

While full specifications are not yet known, it is speculated to feature a 144Hz AMOLED display, up to 120W fast charging, a 50MP triple camera setup, UFS 4.1 storage, and LPDDR5X RAM, all running Android 16-based HyperOS 3.

With IMEI certification already active, it's clear that Xiaomi is speeding up the process. If confirmed, the Xiaomi 17T could become one of the stars of the first quarter of 2026, perhaps with a debut at the Mobile World Congress.
