Xiaomi Mi 6 vs Huawei P10: a comparison

As we all know well this morning, it was finally released Xiaomi Mi 6 and was highly anticipated by Chinese users because it is one of the first devices with the new top-of-the-range processor Snapdragon 835 and accompanied, among other things, by 6GB, 64GB of internal memory, a 3350mAh battery and a very elegant glass-ceramic construction. But there is another smartphone produced by another Chinese company that contends to Mi 6 the title of best terminal of this first half of the 2017: Huawei's P10. So let's see a comparison between the two rivals.

Appearance

The Xiaomi Mi 6 has a glass body with four bending points, the arrival point of a progressive study made by Xiaomi over the years on different materials, just think of the metal structure of Mi 4 or the curved glass of Mi Note and the Mi 3 Ceramic 5D.

The Huawei P10, on the other hand, has a metal body that resembles the same design as the P9 predecessor but with more rounded shapes and at the same time adds some innovative elements, such as the rear body satin finish.

Below is a brief comparison on the oleophobic coating of the two smartphones: as you see, for this feature, the Xiaomi Mi 6 beats the Huawei P10.

SD 835 vs. Kirin 960

What matters more to the users of these two rival Chinese companies is the performance of the two terminals and compared to their predecessors the differences are not small, especially as regards the SD 835 of Mi 6, which we remember is manufactured with a production process to 10nm, with one reduction in consumption of 45%. In addition to this, the Xiaomi Mi 6 comes with the fastest memory in a cell phone, namely the 6GB of RAM LPDDR4x A 1866 MHz and the internal UFS 2.1 memory.

Looking at Huawei, the P10 uses the Kirin 960 processor, based on the technology process at 16nm last year, and performance and energy consumption lag much behind the Qualcomm rival. Huawei's choice of memory is also very conservative, since P10 only has 4GB of RAM and also puts it in a disadvantaged position with respect to the Xiaomi terminal.

Camera

Speaking of the camera, there are two main differences between the two chambers that have different technologies to support their dual-chamber. Huawei P10 uses a "black and white room + color camera" criterion, while Xiaomi Mi 6 employs a "wide-angle camera + telephoto camera" as used by the iPhone 7 Plus.

All the cameras of both smartphones have a resolution of 12Mp, but the combination adopted by Xiaomi, although more expensive, allows for 2x optical zoom support with less loss. The Mi 6 also employed the four-axis OIS - Optical Image Stabilization - function, effectively correcting photos that are blurry, resulting in a better experience and sharper photos.

From these photos it is undeniable to say that the combination of photo sensors, dual processor sensors (ISPs) and OIS at 4 axes make the best photographic experience in Xiaomi Mi 6 than in Huawei.
