Xiaomi has decided to go beyond the usual mobile gaming, bringing to some of its smartphones the possibility of launch real PC games directly from SteamA move that, for now, remains reserved for a few models and a handful of titles, but which opens the doors to a future in which the smartphone could become a real mini console.
Xiaomi Launches Steam Game Launcher on Mobile
Smartphones Xiaomi have already shown that they have power to spare, but now the Chinese brand is aiming even higher: to allow users to launch Steam games on mobileFor now, however, this feature is a privilege reserved for only two models: Redmi K90 and Redmi K90 Pro Max.
The new function, integrated into the Xiaomi Game Center, adds a section dedicated to PC games. From there it will be possible to launch some titles directly from Steam, even if it is not a native execution: everything will be managed by a emulator developed by Xiaomi same.
The list of supported games is still quite short: Stardew Valley, Hollow Knight and the long-awaited SilksongA curious choice, but one that suggests the company is testing the system's stability and compatibility before extending it to other games and devices.

Of course, the titles will have to be purchased regularly on Steam, and users will be able to enjoy all the benefits of the platform: cloud saves, goals and all the functions associated with the original Steam account.
Behind this move there is a clear strategy: Xiaomi wants to enter the market of cloud and video game emulation, leveraging the growing power of its smartphones to offer experiences ever closer to PC gaming.
And who knows, maybe the list of compatible games will soon grow and smartphones will truly become the new "portable consoles" for Steam game lovers. For now, it's just a taste, but one that gives us a glimpse of what's to come in the coming years.
