Xiaomi, now a major player in the automotive sector as well, has announced an important Recall involving 116.887 units of the SU7 Standard Edition model, one of its first electric vehicles and currently the best-selling in the range. The recall was made official by China's State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) and affects vehicles produced between February 6, 2024, and August 30, 2025.
Xiaomi SU7: Accident risk, recall for over 116.000 EVs

The problem encountered concerns the Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), which in some extreme navigation situations fails to correctly recognize the environment, issue timely warnings, or manage maneuvers safely. In practice, if the driver doesn't intervene in time, the risk of collision increases significantly.
Xiaomi has reassured users that the issue will be resolved via a free software update, distributed over-the-air (OTA). The fix will be accompanied by an upgrade to HyperOS 1.10.0, which will also be extended to the YU7 SUV, another of the company's electric models.
The SU7 was launched in March 2024 in three variants and has already sold over 340.000 units in China. However, this isn't the first time Xiaomi has faced a similar situation: in January 2025, the company had already recalled 30.000 units due to a malfunction in the autonomous parking system, which had caused erratic behavior and accidents during maneuvers.
The current recall, while challenging the brand's image, also demonstrates Xiaomi's responsiveness in addressing critical issues and ensuring customer safety. In a competitive market like the electric vehicle market, where every detail can make a difference, transparency and rapid response are crucial.
The SU7 Standard Edition starts at around €27.000, positioning it as one of the most accessible proposals in the electric sedan segment with advanced driver assistance.
