Xiaomi wants to move the current Beijing headquarters

That's right, Xiaomi wants to move the current Beijing headquarters to Wuhan, the most populous city in Central China. Obviously not all employees are happy with this choice, but Lei Jun has lost this decision to gods very specific reasons.

Not everyone knows that Beijing is divided into seven large rings, like seven large ring roads that enclose Rome, which are developed for an area of about 17.000 square kilometers. The first three rings are "dedicated" mainly to tourism, since the beauties of Terra di Mezzo are concentrated there. From the fourth ring on, however, more factories and industries of all kinds are concentrated and it is not unusual to see these moving factories. For example, from the fourth to the fifth ring, in the last few years, one of the biggest manufacturers of LCD and OLED touch displays called "Dongjing" has moved, from which companies like Xiaomi are supplied for the assembly of their devices.

In the same way Xiaomi decided to move, but not one or two rings, but rather of city. In fact, Lei Jun wants transfer the headquarters from Beijing to Wuhan, the most populous city in central China. It is not the first time that Xiaomi has moved: in fact in the last 5 years the employees had to move well 5 times, from office to office, from palace to building. This great shift that may end next year probably has well-founded motivations: Wuhan is the city where Lei Jun graduated in "computer science" in the distant 1991, is the city where the 1 October of this year Xiaomi has opened the largest store in the world but above all is the city where the journey began our CEO with his very first company, unfortunately failed due to inexperience. So it is from here that the dream of Mr. Jun is born

Many think that the CEO can no longer afford to remain in the capital following the loss of the value of Xiaomi on the stock exchange. We do not know if this is the reality, but the only thing we know from certain sources is that this city has a very important affective value for him.

The only "very small" particular is that, as happened to Dongjing we mentioned above, many employees are not at all happy with this choice and this is a particularly large obstacle given the amount of workers who are part of the company. If for Dongjing it happened that many employees have resigned, then it could also happen for Xiaomi. But to make employees accept to move, Lei Jun decided to give, in addition to ordinary salary, 30.000 yuan (equivalent to almost 4000 €) to all those who decide to follow it, even after two years from the date of transfer.

Only those who do not have to worry about the family can afford to leave without worries. In fact, many think it is not worth it, even if the sum of the "prize" is very high. Maybe you Jun dared a little too much to ask a transfer to his workers: in a society where work is at the center of everything, almost to the physical and mental exhaustion, such a request could really seem an exaggeration

What do you think about it? Is the request that Xiaomi is doing to its employees justifiable? And would you accept, considering that 30.000 yuan is really a nice sum in China?
