In a report published by China it is reported that the Chinese company Xiaomi is working on a high-end phone of the Redmi series, preparing itself for the fierce competition of the brand new Meizu MX4 which will arrive poco on the market.
This new top-of-the-line Redmi, the successor to the popular Xiaomi Redmi Note, will be powered by a MediaTek MT6595 octa-core processor associated with 3 GB of RAM.
This SoC MediaTek is not a true octa-core but is based on the big.Litte architecture with four Cortex A-17 2.2 GHz cores and four Cortex A-7 cores at 1.7 GHz, although performance is also lacking as the processor has scored well 47.233 points during AnTuTu's benchmark tests.
The display should have diagonal 5.5 inches with a rear camera with well 20.7 megapixels, and one 8 megapixel at the front.
The battery to power everything will be 3.500 mAh with optimizations for quick charging support.
This new Xiaomi top range should be available with memory cuts from 16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB at a price that should go around 165 $, 215 $ and 245 $, respectively, while the 128 GB version is still in a veil of mystery.
Finally, the new Xiaomi Redmi will feature LTE / 4G and NFC fast connectivity with support for gestures and temperature sensors.
