A smartphone from the Redmi K50 series passes by Geekbench

Xiaomi is preparing to reveal the series Redmi K50 in China. Just a couple of days ago uno smartphone from the Redmi K50 series with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 has gone through multiple certification sites. Now, another smartphone from the Chinese house has appeared on the Geekbench 5 site with the chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 870. Here are all the details.

Redmi K50 will reuse the Snapdragon 870

The model number passed by Geekbench's banchmark is 22021211RC, and it should be one of the variants (not the highest) of the Redmi K50 series. In particular, this model scored 963 points in single-core tests, while with reference to the multimedia department it recorded 3123 points. The list also confirms that the device will be equipped with a Qualcomm processor codenamed “munch”. This is precisely the Snapdragon 870.

For some, the choice of this chipset could be a disappointment, taking into account the fact that last year's Redmi K40 had the same processor. We therefore expect an upgrade in terms of cameras and charging technology, or a price similar to that of its predecessor. As can be seen from the list, the smartphone will own 12 GB of RAM and will have Android 12. Almost certainly also the MIUI 13.

According to some information leaked on the web and concerning the Redmi K50 Pro, it will be equipped with a triple rear camera (not a surprise) and one side mounted fingerprint scanner (this yes, singular). It's a bit of a surprise considering that the line in question started with internal screen smartphones with in-display scanners and pop-up cameras.

Either way, certification on Geekbench means Redmi K50 is preparing for launch in China. It is also expected to arrive in international markets at the end of this quarter. We will see in the coming weeks if confirmation from Xiaomi will arrive.
