Like every weekend I get the notification of the release of a new version of the MIUI 10 marked XIAOMI.EU but this time, scrolling through the release notes, a voice attracts my curiosity: "New - Added support for more apps in AOD screen (AMOLED devices) ". Finally, notifications onalways on display?
I think a little 'all the owners of the Xiaomi Mi8 this question will have been asked: But what is the purpose of the always on display (prerogative of the AMOLED display that allows you to view now and notifications to "display off") if in fact, besides the time, calls and very little else, you do not can you view anything?
Understand that tried for a couple of days and discovered that, among other things, also consumes a little battery the natural action was to disable this feature.
But perhaps from today the always on display (AOD) makes sense. Let's try it together!
Let's start with theinstallation of the xiaomi.eu ROM .
Here is the link for the new one Xiaomi.eu 9.1.3
Let's reactivate the ambient display through the menu item Settings -> Display -> Ambient display
From the settings you can see that the possibility of choosing the style of the watch has also been added. Very style "OnePlus"The vertical version.
But now let's try to get some text.
We send a couple of messages, one with Telegram and one with Whatsapp and let's see what happens:
TATATATAAAAAAAAN
Here you are notifications on the ambient display!
How many of you were waiting for this feature? I have done without it until now ... but it is always nice to see that Xiaomi works to make up for the lack of their smartphone listening to the needs of end users.
SECURITY UPDATE TRAINING: From an internal discussion in the staff it seems that for some time the notifications of third-party apps have been displayed but that everything does not work perfectly yet. Will I miss something? Well ... in the meantime I keep it a bit 'active and check if everything finally works properly. If you have any reports to make are all ears! 🙂
I'm testing the AOD and I see that Outlook notifications are no way to blow them up… any ideas?
