We have been talking about it for days and days. The new smartwatch from Huami, famous brand to which Xiaomi relies for We Band, has finally become reality. Although the company wanted to keep all the new features hidden wearable super minimal but reminiscent of a rugged, in record times, Chinese users and failed to steal important details in advance. Today, as announced, Amazfit Ares has become reality in China. While waiting to see him also through the official Italian channels, let's get to know him.
Amazfit Ares sees the light: the new Huami smartwatch is characterized by a truly minimal design but has all the credentials to be the first in the class
We begin to see the design and specifications of the display. This is a 1.28 ″ with transflective paneltherefore, as for the other Huami devices, the visibility under sunlight is insured. The measures are equal to 45.5 x 55.6 x 14 mm for a weight of suns 48 g. The glass panel is covered with a protection Corning Gorilla Glass 3 but the peculiarity lies in the fact that there is also one anti-fingerprint coverage. The body, although octagonal, houses a square-shaped dial: this gives sportiness but still not too much.
By default we will find 8 watchfaces but undoubtedly these will be implemented in the future also through third-party apps. As well as the watchfaces, the sport modes are also decidedly numerous: the company confirms the actual presence of 70 sports activities the first time it is turned on. This means that few more will be added in the future. Recall that currently the maximum number of supported activities are around 90.
Attached to the octagonal body there are i belt: in official page are recommended 4 different colors. We understand that these are not interchangeable but the reality could be different. In this regard they are only two colors available: black and military green. The construction is not in metal but exclusively in polycarbonate: also thanks to this the featherweight is due. As for the other features we have:
- mode Firstbeat to go further with physical abilities;
- battery by 200 mAh which allows up to 13 days of autonomy with use 24 hours a day and 90 days on standby. The recharge will be with magnetic attack;
- GPS + GLONASS;
- Bluetooth 4.2;
- mode Huami-PAI (which we found out to have next too Mi Band 5);
- sensor PPG Amazfit BioTracker to measure the heart rate and therefore the heartbeats through the wrist;
- impermeability and resistance to diving up to 50 meters deep (5ATM).
Price Amazfit Ares
As announced, the device was released in China so we only know the price in yuan. 499 yuan, equivalent to around € 65 with the current exchange rate. It will be available in Chinese stores starting from June 2020, XNUMX. We still don't know anything about its release in Europe but we count that in a couple of months we will be able to find it on the official website Amazfit Italy.
