It was only a matter of time before the first official news started rolling out. After the announcement a few days ago of the release of the new smartwatches Amazfit GTR 2 and GTS 2, interesting details begin to emerge about the features they will integrate. In a certain sense, we already know most of the characteristics: we have dealt with them previously after all. But there are some news: not only the (already confirmed) possibility of using Amazon Alexa as a voice assistant, but also the presence of feature SP02, Or the control of blood oxygenation. A peculiarity that was missing in previous devices.
Blood oxygenation control will be present on Amazfit GTR 2 and Amazfit GTS 2: a huge step forward, which will cost no poco
The news comes directly from Huang Wang, one of the big bits and responsible for Huami. As we know Huami is the company that deals with the production of the line Amazfit, as well as of the We Band. But while the latter are built for Xiaomi, the former are in a sense proprietary. Owners like the two algorithms (and chips) that will be used for the sleep monitoring and blood oxygenation.
As we can read in the post published on Weibo by the head of the company, Amazfit GTR 2 and GTS 2 will be equipped with blood oxygen detection. The chip dedicated to this task is called Oxygen Beats, as you can read above. There will also be added to OxygenBeats SomnusCare, or a second chip that will allow you to monitor the qualità del sonno. This, as Huang Wang recalls, is closely related to fatigue during the day and snoring at night. In short, two confirmations that we were really waiting for.
But at what price? Certainly we cannot expect a cost of less than € 150 (at least for the GTR 2), as this technology costs money. We'll see. Meanwhile, all ready for the September 22th, day of the official presentation.
