The series Amazfit it is the most loved and appreciated when it comes to smartwatches. Thanks to the two GTR and GTS series the brand Huami, which leans to Xiaomi or rather collaborate with her, she has seen an increase in her popularity as well as in receipts. In fact, the new smartwatches have received a particular interest not only from lovers of SportWatch, but also by those who prefer a more "adult" and less sporty line watch. Some have complained about the price, especially the GTR: they will be happy to know that a new car is coming Amazfit GTR Lite, obviously with a lower price than the standard one.
Amazfit GTR Lite announced by Huami via Gearbest
More than a real announcement, the release of this Amazfit GTR Lite was given by the largest e-commerce portal that deals with the import of Chinese products, that is Gearbest. Through its page we learned of the existence of this new device which differs from the standard one only for a small feature.
According to what reported, the only difference with the normal GTR is theabsence of GPS receiver. From what is written on the Gearbest portal it seems that it is currently available only the version with 47 mm dial: This does not mean that the 42mm one will not be available in the future. As for the remaining specifications and characteristics, everything remains unchanged:
- type screen AMOLED from 1.39 ′', which results in a resolution 454 x 454;
- presence of NFC module;
- waterproof up to 5ATM for underwater use (but up to a certain point, of course);
- BioTracker PPG to continuously monitor your heart rate 24 h;
- type glass protection Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for unprecedented resistance;
- 2 control buttons on the right side: ignition and different types of functions;
- possibility to choose between 12 sports modes: running, treadmill, walking, cycling, exercise bike, swimming in the pool, outdoor swimming, elliptical, mountaineering, track running, skiing and weight lifting;
- 410 mAh battery that allows 24 days of use (at full power) and 74 days (watch only). We would like to note that autonomy will improve in this version of Amazfit GTR Lite since GPS, a notoriously energy-intensive module, will be missing;
- Qualcomm Wear 3100 SoC which allows maximum optimization;
- possibility to display notifications even if, unfortunately, it is not possible to answer incoming calls. Despite this it is possible to interact interact with incoming calls, refusing them or silencing the smartphone.
Last but not least: the price. It will be available at $ 109.99 (at current exchange rates poco less than 100 €)

Hi Walter. In my opinion this choice was made to give the GTR at a lower price, considering that not everyone uses GPS. To implement the missing functions, the usual market law applies: do you want more functions? Between poco I make you a new smartwatch with more functions, so you buy it 😀
