We had all talked before about the existence of a new Amazfit T-Rex Pro, or the successor of the rugged smartwatch released in March last year in Italy, immediately acclaimed for its potential and resistance. But now it has been confirmed by the company, which has already shown the first official images. However, it is not the only novelty for the Chinese brand, since another device is also on the way, that is Amazfit Wien. Let's find out all the details.
Amazft T-Rex Pro 2: all we know and the first images
Now it's official: Amazfit is about to launch a sequel to its T-Rex Pro. And some images have emerged on the net, published exclusively by GSM Arena and provided by an anonymous source. Let's start with a first consideration on the aesthetic aspect of this device, very similar to the T-Rex Pro and the original T-Rex with a reinforced plastic structure it's a silicone strap. Amazfit is bringing several new colors, with an Astro Black and Gold, Wild Green and Desert Khaki option alongside the classic black color option. Here is the gallery with the images.
At the level of technical characteristics, T-Rex Pro 2 has a AMOLED display from 1,39 inch with a resolution of 454x454px and 1.000 nits of maximum brightness. The watch stays true to its rugged nature with its 10 ATM rating and military-grade endurance with 15 MIL-STD-810G certifications.
As far as its functionality is concerned, this smartwatch adds compared to the previous generation a BioTracker 3.0 PPG biometric sensor updated for the heart rate measurement and oxygen in the blood. It will also be able to track over 150 sport modes with PAI scores, as well as sleep and stress levels. The watch also boasts a accelerometer, gyroscope, barometer, geomagnetic sensor it's a ambient light sensor. The watch is also equipped with Dual-band GPS e Bluetooth 5.0 regarding connectivity.
Autonomy chapter: battery life is evaluated up to 24 days of mixed use e 10 days of intense use thanks to the updated battery from 500mAh. The clock will carry 32MB of RAM and 512MB of memory on board. Nothing is known about the price and availability yet, although it is very likely that it will be launched next summer.
Amazfit Vienna: technical characteristics
In addition to the T-Rex Pro 2, we also take our first look at the upcoming Amazfit Vienna, which is advertised as a rugged premium watch with a titanium case e sapphire crystal screen.
Amazfit Vienna is a step above the T-Rex Pro 2 with its more premium titanium and sapphire crystal construction. The watch has a AMOLED display from 1,28 inch with 416x416px resolution and 1000nit of peak brightness. Like T-Rex Pro 2, it has the same functions with reference to the health and sports monitoring sector. Unfortunately it will not be able to make independent calls as it lacks eSIM capability.
It is also equipped with20 ATM waterproof (which means it can be worn during high speed water sports). The watch also boasts 32MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory. It has the same array of sensors as the T-Rex Pro 2, as well as dual-band GPS and Bluetooth 5.0 for connectivity. Autonomy chapter: Amazfit Vienna can last up to 14 days with normal use and is powered by a battery 500 mAh.
The same speech made for the other model also applies to this: the prices are not known, nor when it will be launched on the market. Having said that, we are almost sure that both will arrive on the global market and therefore also on the Italian one. We just have to wait for official updates.
