Amazfit GTR 2, GTS 2 and all previous models will not receive Zepp OS. This is the answer that the online support gave to a user a few days ago. The answer was shared on social media and is bouncing around the web. This news will certainly not please users who, just a year ago, started buying the models of the GTR2 and GTS 2 families. The user asked the official online support if the Amazfit GTR 2 and GTS 2 models are eligible for the upgrade to Zepp OS. Technical support not only confirmed that these two models will not upgrade to the new operating system, but also stated that "Zepp OS will not be available on previous smartwatches". This means that not even the first generation Amazfit and those of generation marked with the letter "e" will receive the update. Basically, the operating system update remains exclusive to Amazfit GTR 3, GTR 3 Pro and GTS 3.
Clearly the later models, which we trivially call Amazfit GTR 4 and GTS 4 they will be updated in the future when the time comes. The reasons behind this choice are unknown: the brand has not said why Amazfit GTR 2 and GTS 2 will not receive Zepp OS even if we can have an idea. Compared to the second generation family, the third generation ones are with more memory. This could be a reason, but we are not sure.

No the zepp os is not the only difference. No call receiving or sending on 3 and no music storage on the 3. The Pro yes, but their strategy there was more money not just new watch. They could have easily just made the 3 the upgrade without the Pro. Just stupid they gyp the GTR 3 owners of those features of the GTR 2, and bumped a Pro version.
