Amazon has found a way to make you pay less for the products you buy. Here's how

Amazon introduces the “Non-urgent delivery”, a new option that allows you to slow down delivery times in exchange for a discount. A novelty that seems to want to balancing customer speed needs with logistics optimization of the company. But including it works exactly, who really benefits, and how much can you save? Here's everything you need to know.

Amazon Non-Urgent Delivery: Here's How It Works

The new “Non-urgent Delivery” option is a small step towards a more relaxed approach to logistics. The idea is simple: if you don't need to receive your order immediately, Amazon offers you a discount on eligible products.

A compromise that allows to reduce the pressure on the logistics centers, especially during peak periods such as Black Friday (Here you will find some interesting offers) or the Christmas holidays, and which also makes customers earn something.

But let's see the details. When you choose this option, you give up the classic guaranteed fast delivery from Amazon Prime, accepting a later arrival date, clearly indicated during the purchase process. In exchange, you get a discount that is applied immediately to the order total.

The discount is not huge, but it can vary depending on the value of the item purchased. Based on the tests we have done, a product that would normally take 1-2 days, with Amazon's non-urgent delivery takes 4-5 days; as for the cost, we noticed one 1% discount on the total. Not bad for this price, right?

As mentioned above, the discount is calculated only on specific products, listed as “eligible” on the order summary page. Not all items qualify for this option, but for those who place large orders, the sum could become significant.

There is a clear advantage for Amazon behind this move: lighten the load on your warehouses and optimize shipments, especially during times of high demand. Additionally, this option can improve the overall efficiency of the system, reserving the speed of Prime delivery for those who really need it.

For customers, however, it is an opportunity to save something in exchange for a little patience. And, after all, not all purchases have to arrive immediately: those who are not in a hurry can find an interesting alternative in this novelty.
