If you had just finished understanding the nuance differences of the various Xiaomi / Redmi smartphones, well you will have to get back into the game, because in the entry level panorama the Redmi 8A Pro has recently arrived, recently presented in Indonesia. To tell the truth, the new device is a rebrand of the Redmi 8A Dual, in turn presented a couple of months ago in India, improving in the photographic sector and little else.
As happened for the Indian cousin, Redmi 8A Pro inherits much of the data sheet from the Redmi 8A, as for the 6,22-inch HD + resolution display that has a drop notch in which the 8 megapixel selfie camera is drowned. Although the device belongs to an economic range, there is also a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 glass protection, almost a contradiction in relation to the body, instead made of plastic.
In terms of hardware components we find again the Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 processor, octacore clocked at 1,95 GHz and Adreno 505 GPU which are joined by 2 or 3 GB of RAM and a single cut of internal storage equal to 32 GB.
Redmi 8A Pro also becomes official. New smartphone or yet another rebrand?
Fortunately we have a dedicated slot, which in addition to hosting a dual SIM, also offers accommodation for a micro SD, without having to give up the functionality of the Dual SIM Dual Standby. But as already mentioned, on Redmi 8A Pro, the camera doubles with a 2 megapixel depth sensor that goes alongside the 13 megapixel main sensor. The LED flash is moved above the dual camera, while the absence of a fingerprint reader remains.
Redmi 8A Pro is inexpensive but not at all poor, considering the presence of a 5000 mAh battery that can be recharged via USB Type-C connector, with support for 18 W charging, able to give autonomy as a true battery phone . Too bad that in the sales package there is only a 10 watt power supply. Of Redmi 8A Pro at the moment we do not know if it will also be marketed in Italy, but its price (at the exchange rate) starts from 85 euros for the 2/32 GB variant while it rises to about 91 euros for the 3/32 GB model, available in three colors: white, gray and blue with Aura XGrip texture.
