Android Nougat (v 7.0) was released some time ago, but the adaptation for Xiaomi devices has only just begun, given the long list of devices currently available that will require an update. Unfortunately, however, there are few chances of seeing Android 7.0 on older devices, which have to be satisfied with custom ROMs developed by the community.
The modding enthusiast "Wang Haozhe M3" recently released, in the official MIU forum, a ROM based on the CyanogenMod 14 for the Xiaomi Redmi 2 that will allow you to take advantage of the latest version of the operating system developed by Google. As proof you can find screenshots posted by "Wang" himself showing the ROM in action on the smartphone. The ROM is still being worked on, so it will not be difficult to run into some bugs or real malfunctions, even if the designer has assured that he will strive to improve the release through continuous updates. We therefore hope that other older smartphones receive the same treatment as Redmi and can benefit from all the news provided by the latest version of Android.
