And from poco released Android Pie but right away we started talking about Android Q, which will be distributed by the next September. It also appears that the first device to receive the beta version will be the one Xiaomi Mi 9. Obviously we do not assume that all devices will receive this new version: it is in fact more plausible that, at least initially, only the China devices will enjoy this update. Anyhow Xiaomi it is in looking for beta testers for this new and interesting Android Q version.
Android Q and Mi 9: looking for beta testers!
From the table that we post below we see what is the "debut" lineup of the new version of Android for Xiaomi devices: the first to receive it, as mentioned, will be the My 9 followed closely by Redmi K2O and K2O Pro, Mi 9 SE, Mi 8 (with its variants), I Mix 2S and Mi Mix 3. The Redmi Note 7 and the Note 7 Pro will be the only two devices to receive the beta in the first quarter of the 2020.
Among the novelties of Android Q we mention the most important:
- Dark Mode: the mode for which we could set black as a background color of the system a color will be fully supported, thus leading to a substantial energy saving of your device;
- Support for folding devices: it is useless that we pretend, we are all waiting for the Xiaomi folding smartphone and it is not excluded (it would be a nice surprise) that will come out with the release of Android Q. Who knows ...
- New audio / video codecs
- Setting Panels: it is precisely panels that can be opened directly from the app and that allow you to change the system settings without leaving the app itself.
- Dynamic Depth image: very interesting feature that will allow third-party apps to post-produce and apply changes to the photographs taken by our smartphone.
It is obvious but we say the same: the beta of this version is not without a bug! So if you are willing to take part we warn you that you could run into some problems that still haven't been solved, such as sudden shutdown when one-hand mode is activated, camera app crashes and volume controls that don't always work. Now that we have warned you, let the dances begin!
