Since the inauguration of the Mi Community Italian company I immediately thought it would be really useful a dedicated app that allows you to access the community and also participate in smartphones.
This app already exists and, guess what, it's called right Mi Community. Soon it will be available for download to us Italians, but here are some tips to download it in advance and start to become familiar.
Please note, the Mi Community app that you are going to download behind these tips is not yet connected to the Italian Mi Community and is not yet provided with the support to our language. This results in a limited use that we can make the app, as it will not be possible to access the contents of the Italian forum other than those published by us or that are saved among our favorites.
It is therefore clear that what I am about to tell you is only a temporary solution that will not make sense to be implemented once the app is available in Italian. I will explain what you can do later, now let's see how to download the temporary app.
Download Mi Community app
I am a user of the MIUI Global so I can assure you that these operations definitely work on this branch of the ROM.
Go to the system settings and access the item "Additional settings": from here change the region to "India".
Returning to your home among the various apps you should notice three or four new ones including the Mi Community and Apps app. If so, you can reset the region you had before: all the new apps will disappear except Mi Community that you can start using.
If the Mi Community app did not appear in the home then go to the Apps application which is nothing more than an app store from which you can download the community simply by writing its name in the search field and then start the download. Once installed the app, even in this case you can reset the region that suits you best.
Who uses the China branch of MIUI and ROM resulting from it, can try to perform the same operations, but not being a user of these products I can not assure their operation.
Alternatively, you can search for the apk file on the network and proceed with the manual installation. In this case, neither I nor the other staff of XiaomiToday.it assume any responsibility in case you install malicious content in your smartphone and since I do not want to have remorse of conscience do not ask me to provide you with the apk. Do everything at your own risk.
Mi Community app: what can we do?
Now that you've managed to install the Mi Community app in one way or another, first start the app and select the region you prefer. I have selected "Spain" as it is closest to us. Give the necessary permissions to the app and then tap the icon at the bottom right to access the personal section. From here you can log in and even change the language in the settings: you will not find Italian, I put English as it is the one I chew the most. If you change language, the application automatically restarts to apply the chosen settings.
Let's see now what you can do with the app!
Let's start from the screen "Home", Icon at the bottom left. Its contents are almost without interest since they are not those of our Mi Community but those of the community related to the region you have chosen in the initial phase of configuration of the app.
However, useful are the icons on the sides of the search bar at the top:
- a calendar from which you can log in daily, the one with the smiley faces;
- a little bell that in the case of notifications warns us with a red dot and that gives us access to be tapping it.
The section "Subforums"Is useless for the same speech related to the contents of the" Home "screen.
You can instead use the section "Following"Given that in it appear all the content you are following, this regardless of the nationality of the Mi Community of origin: will therefore be visible even those of the Italian Mi Community.
Following we find the section linked to the personal profile, reachable through the icon at the bottom right of the app. The image below is very explanatory, in this section we can keep track of favorite threads, personal threads and answers given. You can also access messages and notifications.
Last but not least, here is the aspect that convinced me to start using the Mi Community app before time: the possibility of being able to reply to the discussions, even by quoting, directly from smartphones, which at the moment is not possible to do from the mobile version of the site.
