MediaTek beats Qualcomm for the first time: the ASUS ROG Phone 6D is the most powerful smartphone on AnTuTu

Like every month, the benchmarking platform AnTutu released the September rankings of the best performing phones on AnTuTu.

MediaTek beats Qualcomm for the first time: the ASUS ROG Phone 6D is the most powerful smartphone on AnTuTu

In the latest edition, it turns out that the ASUS ROG Phone 6D Ultimate is the new leader outperforming key competitors such as OnePlus Ace Pro and iQOO 10 Pro who finished in second and third place respectively. The new ROG Phone 6D Ultimate is the only smartphone on the list that isn't powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 + Gen 1 chipset and instead relies on the Dimensity 9000+ SoC which earned it a score of 1.123.036. Recall that the total score is a sum of the CPU, GPU, memory and user interface components.

We also note that this is the first time that a smartphone with a MediaTek chipset is ranked first in the AnTuTu database even though the margin between the ROG Phone 6D Ultimate and the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 powered OnePlus Ace Pro is only 11.836. points.

Another interesting fact is that the Dimensity 9000+ chipset is worse in the GPU department than the flagship Qualcomm chip, although it makes up for it by providing higher scores in the CPU department.

As for the OnePlus Ace Pro, the smartphone adopts a 6,7-inch 2.5D flat OLED screen, 120 Hz refresh rate, LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1, 4800 mAh battery and support for 150 W fast charging. it is not a gaming phone, but it is more than performing for passing gamers.

Then we have the iQOO 10 Pro, a truly complete smartphone that also offers a 40x zoom and vivo's self-developed V1 + chip. As if that weren't enough, the smartphone supports ultra-fast charging of 200W.

As for the ranking of the mid-high range, we have another victory for MediaTek and the OnePlus Ace with Dimensity 8100 Max which took home the first place in the standings thanks to a combined score of 821.025 points.

The smartphone appears to have a premium design, although there is no metal or glass shell, and we can see an uneven rear shell that has never been seen before. The design, right-angled edges are also popular at the moment, along with the Dimensity 8100, which was well received this year.

The OnePlus Ace Racing Edition using the same chipset finished in second place. The design of this device is completely different from that of the previous OnePlus Ace. The rear camera module has changed to a crater, similar to the OPPO Find X5. The back cover is made of plastic, using the built-in high pressure injection molding, and the unlocking method is side fingerprint recognition. It is worth mentioning that this is One Plus' first side fingerprint recognition model.

In third place we have the Oppo Reno8 Pro + 5G with a body that pays homage to the flagship Find X5 Pro series and the ultra-thin frame on the front enhances its appearance again.

In the mid-high range ranking, the average AnTuTu score of the Dimensity 8 series processors has a range that goes from 78 thousand to 82 thousand points. The difference in the scores of 4K is still a bit big for this stage, but if we take a look at the latest smartphone in the ranking, the vivo S15 with the Snapdragon 870 on board, we see that there is a difference not to be poco. In fact, it gets a score of 73 thousand points, therefore 5 thousand points under the less performing Dimensity chip.

Finally, in the mid-range ranking, we have the first two devices with Snapdragon 778G chip, the iQOO Z6 and iQOO Z5 while the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 of the Oppo Reno8 Pro 5G places it in third place.
