A recent survey by the Shenzhen consumer advice found that different brands of mobile phone cases, including those of big names like Apple, cthey contain toxic and harmful substances exceeding the limit allowed by law, values that could damage people's health.
The council has examined the covers over 30 brand among the most popular smartphones in China including Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi and Huawei. In five cases on 30 it was possible to find the presence of toxic and harmful substances exceeding the standard limit. The highest incidence lies with Apple and Xiaomi, perhaps the most popular brands in China, in terms of sales. In some cases the level of lead present in a cover was even 1550 times higher than the limit.

Among other toxic substances found in addition to lead have been found polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and plasticizers, which could damage organs and even lead to cancer, coem explained a council official. Attention we do not want to make psychological terrorism on the style of Donald Trump, but as the Chinese consumer council itself suggests, often purchases of these covers take place online where unfortunately there is no control.
In China, 67 percent of cover purchases take place online and almost 90% of consumers buy low-cost "houses" with prices lower than 50 yuan (about 6,5 euro). Official statistics show that the number of Chinese users who own a smartphone has reached the share of 1,42 billion in the year just passed, considering that there are around 1 billion covers in circulation, the alarm launched by the council is quite sensible. So before making a purchase like that, for your smartphone that you paid even handsomely, think twice and maybe bet on cover of more known brands or official.
