Disney + has decided to change the prices of its subscriptions in Italy, with some changes that will not make those who prefer to enjoy content without advertising interruptions smile. While the cheapest plan remains unchanged, anyone who chooses the ad-free Standard option or the Premium plan will face a small increase in their monthly bill. A move already applied by another competitor.
Disney+ Price Increase: The New Subscription Costs
If you have a Disney+ subscription and opted for one of the ad-free plans or the richer Premium, prepare for a nasty surprise. Prices have increased. The piano Standard, which allows you to watch all content without interruptions, increased by €1, costing €9,99 per month. If you prefer to pay annually, it will now cost you €99,90, an increase of €10.
But the piano Premium is the one that suffers the most significant price increase: €2 more per month, bringing the monthly cost to €13,99, or €139,90 per year. This plan, in addition to having no advertising, offers the possibility of watching content in Ultra HD resolution and on multiple devices at the same time. In short, everything remains the same except the price.
Piano | Old Price | Price New | Difference |
---|---|---|---|
Standard with advertising | 5,99 € / month | 5,99 € / month | No difference |
Ad-free standard | 8,99 € / month | 9,99 € / month | + 1 |
€ 89,90 / year | € 99,90 / year | + 10 | |
Premium | 11,99 € / month | 13,99 € / month | + 2 |
€ 119,90 / year | € 139,90 / year | + 20 | |
Extra user (with advertising) | 4,99 € / month | 4,99 € / month | No difference |
Extra user (without ads) | 5,99 € / month | 5,99 € / month | No difference |
Those who are satisfied with the Standard plan with advertising you can rest assured: the price remains the same stable at €5,99 per month, which in this scenario becomes almost a bargain. However, this plan does not eliminate ad breaks, so if you hate forced breaks, you might still consider upgrading, even if it is more expensive.
The question now is: with Disney+'s price increase, does it still make sense to keep the Premium subscription? If you're a fan of 4K video quality and Dolby Atmos sound, maybe. But if you watch most of your content on a regular TV screen or your phone, the Standard plan could offer you everything you need, saving a few euros.
