On the same day that the Black shark 3s is presented in China, the famous photo rating site DxOMark has published the review of the audio sector. And no, there is no mention of the smartphone just presented, but of the predecessor, the Black Shark 3 Pro released in March of this year.
Black Shark 3 Pro reviewed on DxOMark Audio, continues to disappoint
Let's start with the final score which settles at 55 points, so a not exceptional score and only slightly better than the Black Shark 2 Pro which already had not done well with a score of 51 points. In any case, as also for the reviews of the photographic sector, the score is divided into two categories: playback and recording, or reproduction and recording.
The Black Shark 3 Pro scored 57 points for audio playback. The strengths of the audio compartment are the excellent performance in sound processing, the speakers are very difficult to plug with your hands and the Biso Sound function improves the audio extension for the highs and the lows. On the other hand, negative DxOMark noticed a lack of low and high frequency sounds, with the mids dominating everything, the audio does not seem to follow the rotation of the device and there is a low precision in the bass.
Turning to audio recording, here the Black Shark gaming phone scored a final score of 50 points. Let's start with the positives, that is the excellent recording volume in each app used and the good location in the selfie videos. While the lack of bass, general closed sound, the considerable number of artifacts (distortion, compression, resonances, hisses) and very poor background noise rendering are not appreciated.
So in general, the Black Shark 3 Pro has improved compared to the Black Shark 2 Pro, but it is still not one of the most performing smartphones from the audio point of view, with the best smartphones that get over 70 points. Really disappointing result if we consider that we are dealing with a gaming phone that given the large size should theoretically bring better hardware.
