For music lovers it is essential to choose the right speaker, preferably BlueTooth, where you can listen to it best and comfortably. If you can also have fun with karaoke, it is certainly the best combo: listening and singing. There are many products like this, perhaps even equipped with lighting effects to make the most of the "party" effect. Today I tried it BlitzWolf BW-WA6 and I'll tell you about it in this article. Get ready because the device really deserves special attention.

BlitzWolf BW-WA6 PACKAGE

The packaging is quite compact, it will arrive with a fairly thick tissue but no cardboard box to protect the actual packaging. But don't worry because the box is well packaged inside and there will be no risk of it being damaged during transport:

TECHNICAL FEATURES BlitzWolf BW-WA6

As you can see from the table the features are interesting with pros and cons. Very good, not to say very good, the response on the low frequencies which reaches up to the 20Hz. The class is good BT 5.0 which will allow you high level audio reproduction TWS. The peak power is also good 80w, the volume is really high and you can't complain. However, the autonomy is not convincing as it does not exceed approximately 3 hours and this could be a limit in case of use during a party with friends. In this case, remember a power supply or a power bank. I found the dimensions excellent due to its compactness which will allow for easy transport.

INPUTS

Complete connectivity that will allow us to use it in multiple ways. In fact, in addition to the connection BlueTooth 5.0 you can also listen to music via an external device with Jack 3.5mm, pendrive/HD USB A, TF / SD Card. You will find all these inputs behind them, protected by a rubber cover which will guarantee their impermeability to any splashes of water. So also perfect for our pool parties! There is also a USB Type C port which will be used to charge the speaker, use a 5V-3A (15W) charger. There is also an input for a possible wired microphone. In this case the input jack will be the standard 6.3mm. Note that USB Type A also serves as an output power bank (5V-1A) and you can then use it to recharge your devices when they run out of battery

FUNCTION KEYS

Right on the top of our speaker we will have 8 physical keys that will allow us to take advantage of the many functions we have available:

• Power Button: press it for 1.5 seconds to enter the BT search mode (at the first start it will automatically enter this mode), press it for more than 2 seconds to turn it off. Press it quickly to switch between the 3 RGB LED modes or turn off the LEDs.
• M key: press it quickly to switch between the various audio inputs which in order will be BT-TF/SD-USB A-AUX 3.5mm. Press it for 3 seconds to reset the BT connection, press it for 8 seconds to restore factory settings.
• EQ: to switch the 3 predefined equalization modes: by default the FLAT one will be active, with the first click you will switch to the "clear voice" one, the second to the "deep bass" one
• Key : This button will be used to attenuate the voice of the song and leave only the musical part so as to allow Karaoke mode. To obtain this effect, press it for 1.5 seconds
• Play: this button will have multiple uses - one click to play/pause in USB mode, pressed for 3 seconds activates the voice assistant, during an incoming call one click to answer and in a call one click to close the call, press it for 2 seconds to reject a call
• Plus/Minus key: just one click to increase or decrease the volume, hold down for 2 seconds

LIGHTING EFFECTS

For the party to be total we will also have the possibility to select a series of lighting effects which can also be performed to the rhythm of the music played. Of course, remember that the LEDs will affect battery consumption and therefore the autonomy of the speaker. I honestly keep them off also because they are really very conspicuous and are located above, below and behind the speaker. Surely if the sound is disco and the evening with friends will have its own reason to keep them turned on! To switch from one to the other, simply click on the appropriate button on the speaker, there are 3 modes: random lights, rhythmic pulsating lights that follow the music, homogeneous lights in sequence.

PASSIVE RADIATOR

On the back of the speaker we find an important passive radiator, which will emphasize the bass sounds. All around there is an LED which gives a beautiful effect but perhaps it could lead people to touch it. Obviously this is something that should not be done to avoid damaging it. Well, perhaps this thing could have been studied better because if very scenic it could also prove to be a little dangerous for the integrity of the speaker.

KARAOKE FUNCTION BlitzWolf BW-WA6

The Karaoke function is very simple because in reality there is no real Karaoke function, let me explain better. With the supplied microphones, simply turn them on to connect wirelessly (2.4GHz) to the speaker and at this point you can sing/talk over the music or even without background music. To have the right Karaoke effect you will therefore need to have MP3 backing tracks without the original singing or use the button to attenuate the vocals of the song but I assure you that the effect leaves a lot to be desired, after all removing the singing from a song is a huge problem even for the most sophisticated music software. Given the difficulty of finding karaoke MP3s, I recommend using programs like Spotify which will allow you to choose from a nice list of famous songs in Karaoke version.

As regards the microphone you will find 4 buttons which will be used to:

• Key power on: microphone on/off. When turned on, the microphone will automatically connect to the speaker and standard reverb mode will be enabled. In this situation the plus and minus keys will act on the reverb effect (increasing and decreasing it with each press). Quickly click the power button once and the plus and minus buttons will switch to adjusting the microphone volume. Press once more to return to reverb adjustment
• keys volume: increase or decrease the reverb effect or the volume based on which of the two settings the microphone is set to
• Key small: click it in sequence to switch between the various effect modes: normal, male, female, child, monster
• LED : fast blue blink microphone discharge, slow blue blink waiting for connection, solid blue connected, red charging

The transmission distance is around 10m.

HOW BlitzWolf BW-WA6 SOUNDS

The fundamental thing for a BT speaker is obviously how it sounds and as an expert in this field I can assure you that 95% of people will find it perfect. Its strong point is undoubtedly the fact that it reaches i 20Hz and consequently the bass is really very “low” and full-bodied. It's difficult to find a speaker in this price range that can go so low and have this quality. If it drops a lot at the bottom, the same cannot be said about the high frequencies that stop at 16KHz a value that does not guarantee optimal reproduction of high frequencies, but no problem with singing as the human voice stops well below 16KHz. To give you an idea, the average range covered by speakers of this type is 40Hz-18/20KHz. However, I would like to point out that on the manufacturer's website the frequency response is given between 70Hz and 13KHz, a clear and evident discrepancy with the seller's technical data sheet. The instruction booklet instead reports the seller's parameters, i.e. 20Hz-16KHz and in my opinion they are the correct ones.

FINAL THOUGHTS BlitzWolf BW-WA6

As always, we are going to compare everything said above with the price, a fundamental discriminant for evaluating the purchase.
