After seeing the new smartphone from the Gionee brand long inactive, another old guard of Chinese telephony, Coolpad, is back in the spotlight. The Chinese smartphone maker has in fact just presented a new device with the name of Coolpad GrandView 40s; let's find out together.
Coolpad Grand View 40s presented in China: with Dimension 700 5G chip starting from 1399 yuan (190 euros)
The Coolpad Grand View 40s comes with one 6,52-inch LCD screen with a resolution of only 1600 x 720 (HD+), a pixel density of 450 PPI and a water drop notch screen design. Also, although the official promotional image notably provides a black background, it can still be seen that he has a fairly thick chin.
As for the photographic sector, the Coolpad Grand View 40s is equipped with a rear main camera having a resolution of 13 megapixels accompanied by a second 2 megapixel camera. In front we find instead one 5 megapixel selfie camera.
The Coolpad Grand View 40s is driven by the processor MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G, a chip adopting 7nm manufacturing process, with octa-core CPU architecture and the GPU is Mali-G57, a very entry-level chip.

Finally, the smartphone comes with a battery from 4500 mAh, has a side fingerprint sensor and supports the NFC function.
As for the prices, the device is not that cheap. The version with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory it has a price of 1399 yuan (190 euros), then we have the 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage version which is priced at 1699 yuan (230 euros) and finally the version with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of memory which will be priced at 2099 yuan (280 euros).
So in conclusion it's a smartphone that they could have avoided releasing, but at least it's not one clone of iPhone and Xiaomi 11 Ultra like the one released by Gionee a couple of days before.
