Xiaomi has been in the business of air purifiers for quite a while now and this is undoubtedly due to the high levels of air pollution in the Asian country. Until today, however, the company was limited mainly to small home accessories that could be moved from room to room without any difficulty.
Well, the Xiaomi Mijia Wind Machine presented a few hours ago seems to be different from all those released previously as it is necessary to fix it to a wall to have a proper operation. This air purifier is in fact much heavier and more powerful than usual, with new fans that are able to suck up to 300 cubic meters of air in an hour, so a 105 square meter house is ventilated for about 26 times in that time frame.

The fans are then assisted by a system of air ducts which reduces the internal pressure but still manages to produce a homogeneous air flow. This means that when in operation it does not disturb those in the vicinity and is also relatively quiet to only 36 decibel also configured to maximum power. While in sleep mode, the Xiaomi Mijia Wind Machine can go down to just 20.4 decibel, in practice it is almost inaudible.
The Xiaomi purifier adopts a variable frequency fan with the central part containing magnets and plastic, which makes the motor much more efficient at 70%, and 10% more than motors with rubber parts. At maximum speed, Mijia Wind Machine consumes only 0.84 kWh in 24 hours.
As for the air purification system, it is divided into three levels: anti-mosquito filter, medium efficiency filter and a high efficiency H13 filter. These are all simple filtering systems and therefore do not produce any kind of pollution.
Moving on to the aesthetic side, a bit like all Xiaomi products we have a fairly classic and minimal design, embellished with some high-tech details. On the Mijia Wind Machine we find in fact a circular OLED type display with touch function. On it it is possible to see the amount of PM2.5 and carbon dioxide present in the air at that moment, the display then turns off in sleep mode so as not to disturb the sleep of those who are sleeping in the same room.
Finally, the Xiaomi Mijia Wind Machine supports the Xiaoyi voice assistant and can be connected to the Mijia series smart product system. The air purifier will soon go to the crowdfunding campaign on the Xiaomi website at the price of 1999 Yuan, that is about 250 €.
