From the Indian market an explanation for the many mid-range Xiaomi!

A recent Morgan Stanley market analysis has revealed as the Indian market will surpass the US economy in the coming year. In this context, it is part of the spread of the brand that Xiaomi has been implementing for some time on the smartphone market. So let's see what is the current situation and the scenario that can be expected.

Market Indian- xiaomi-samsung

The analysis agency Canalys, as you can see from the image above, showed how the Indian smartphone market is absolutely dominated by Samsung and the most well-known Chinese 4 brands: Xiaomi, Vivo, OPPO and Lenovo in order of diffusion. The graph also shows the evolution of market shares after one year, from the second quarter of the 2016 to the second quarter of the 2017.

You see very well as Xiaomi and Vivoabove all, they more than tripled their market share within the Indian territory, despite the overall sales of 4% (-27 million units).

While Samsung maintains the 25% of the smartphone market in the territory, Xiaomi is the brand that most threatens the leadership of the Korean brand with a rise in well 4.8 million units sold compared to Q2 2016. In this scenario, they are then inserted Live and OPPO who have focused strongly on sales in physical stores and offline, drastically bouncing Lenovo from the lowest step of the podium. It should be noted, then, that 4 Trademarks have a total of 50% of the Indian phone market and, above all, due to the presentation of mid-range and entry-level smartphones, two on all Redmi Note 4 e Redmi Notes 4X, the competition does not seem to endure. Moreover, the Samsung J Series did not get any success either!

By making a quick comparison with the scenarios that will be on the Chinese and Indian market, Morgan Stanley reports how Chinese market it will experience an increase in the 4% over the 2018, while that of the XNUMX Indian even of 23%! This data explains very well the strong choice Lei Jun has to push on the Indian market with mid-range smartphone dedicated to it.

I leave you with a point of reflection: in light of these market data, is it still appropriate to think that Xiaomi is making too many mid-range devices?

Frankly, it seems to me that the article is not an explanation of the title
