If you are addicted to modding or simply do not fully love the rom made in Xiaomi - the MIUI -, there is good news for you; the world's most popular third-party firmware is available for download for the new Xiaomi flagship.
Exactly five days ago, the user XDA thebrainkafka has published on the world's most famous modder forum a simple guide to the installation of the CyanogenMod 11S (the special version designed for the 2014 OnePlus One flagship killer) for the new top of the Xiaomi range Mi4.
We tried firsthand to install the ROM, but unfortunately without success. After the flash procedure, in fact, upon reboot the system remains in loop on the CM11S logo, as you can see in the main photo of the post. We still bring you the installation instructions, let us know if it is successful!
The basic prerequisite is to have the recovery CMW installed on your MI4.
How to install the CyanogenMod 11S for Xiaomi Mi4:
- Download the zip file of the CyanogenMod 11S for Xiaomi Mi4;
- Turn off the Xiaomi Mi4 and restart it in recovery by holding down the power and volume up keys at the same time;
- Perform a wipe data / factory reset;
- Perform a wipe cache;
- Install the ROM;
- Install the Gapps;
- Restart the phone.
However, the developer specifies that the version in question is still an alpha version (therefore still very immature) and that not being in possession of a Xiaomi Mi4 it will not be able to provide feedback on the status of the rom independently.
Unfortunately in the link there are also Gapps, but in this case finding them on the net will be the least complex task.
