How many times have you used the Bluetooth headphones and to be disappointed because you thought they were in charge, but in reality their daily work had already ended? I have to be honest: it happened to me several times and at that point I decided to buy one Powerbank larger to be used together for both the smartphone and the bluetooth headphones. From today, however, I will be able to monitor battery status of my bluetooth headphones thanks to this app (thank you TuttoAndroid for the alert) that is called Dotdroid. But I can do even more: customize actions, up to now very great negative of all the devices Xiaomi of this type.
How to customize actions and control the charging of Xiaomi headphones
That's right: for those who don't know one point against, one of the very few if not the only one, of the branded headphones Xiaomi it's just the failure to personalize touches. The company has limited itself exclusively to schedule pause / play and call answering, but with Dotdroid the story changes!
Before moving on to customize the use of headphones, let's start by saying that the app is free even if inside you will find absolutely non-intrusive advertisements. In any case, you can opt to purchase the Pro version for 1.69 €. In addition to this we would like to tell you that, at least for now, the Dotdroid app does not support the Italian language but only Korean, English, Chinese, Russian, Spanish and Japanese. We hope that the Italian language will soon be implemented for better usability.
Returning to the core of the discourse, the functions that allow us to customize the headphones supported by this app (currently only the version Youth sticks, the Mi Airdots Youth and the Airdots Pro) are basically two:
- check the battery status of your Xiaomi bluetooth headphones by a percentage: in reality we can do much more since we are allowed to see how much more can we listen to music with the remaining charge e how much is missing to the completion of the same one;
- assign to the touch that you decide a particular action: this speech concerns both the right and left bonnet. You can indeed decide how many touches to make (one or two) for a certain action that can be play, pause, skip a song, raise or lower the volume, go forward or backward from 15 seconds or even wake up theGoogle voice assistant.
Among the other options that do not directly affect the interaction with the headphones, there is also that of change color to the latter by choosing between black and white. We will also be able to choose what sound to have at each touch of the headphones or even disable it. The only flaw of this app is that does not support Xiaomi gestures: to go back we will have to click on the gear icon each time which is located at the top right. Poco bad considering the functionality!
