DT No.1 DT8 ULTRA+ the Apple CLONE that costs less than €40
It is the first time for this blog that I try one 1:1 cloned smart watch of the most popular Apple Watch series, an icon of desire that cannot be fulfilled for all those who belong to the ranks of Android. The dream could come true, thanks to the DT No.1 DT8 Ultra+, who seems to have what it takes to make me fall in love with him. Many goodies in terms of functionality, responding to an excellent quality / price ratio, which I want to tell you in this review.

DT No.1 DT8 ULTRA+ Design and packaging
The sales package appears rather accurate, even if the content does not excite you, which includes only the smartwatch, the wireless charging base in full Apple Watch Ultra style and a user manual, unfortunately only in English and Chinese.
The clone clock results sturdy and well assembled, counting on an aesthetic 1:1 with that of the Cupertino smartwatch, i.e. a square-shaped case made of metal alloy, which brings the total weight (including strap) to approx 65 grams, not very light but I assure you that it is comfortable on the wrist, while the general dimensions of the wearable are equal to 49 x 44 x 11.5 mm, practically identical to the original, except for the thickness which for Apple Watch Ultra is 14.4 mm. The back, on the other hand, is made of plastic, but of good quality, so much so that it resembles the ceramic inserted in the Apple device. Here we find the sensors, such as heart rate monitor and value SpO2, inserted in the protrusion which is also used for wireless charging and then the buttons for quick release of the strap.
Speaking strap, this is made with a material that looks like silicone but also rubber, in any case resistant, comfortable and breathable but above all fully compatible with the original bindings, then with 45mm pitch, in order to easily find others on the market.
On the left profile of the metal case, we find the system speaker that will play multimedia content if necessary as well as perform the speakerphone function for Bluetooth calls. Then we find a metallic orange button, which allows you to call up a function of your choice, such as (in my case) the monitor of sports activities. You can choose which action to recall directly from the watch settings menu. On the right side we have a physical crown which reacts to rotation, i.e. it will allow us to move within the system menus. Feature undoubtedly copied from the most famous Apple Watch, so much so that we even have a small one haptic feedback tthrough vibration.
This crown is also used to turn the display on/off, return to the home screen, or if pressed twice quickly while we are inside the main menu, will allow us to change the style of the same, choosing from eleven different styles. Then we have a further button which, if pressed, calls up a sort of multitasking of the latest applications and if pressed allows you to start one SOS call or to turn off the clock. Finally, it completes the aesthetics of the case DT No.1 DT8 ULTRA+, the presence of a microphone, useful not only for calls, but also for division voice assistant commands, compatible with Google, Siri and Alexa.
Display
Il di DT No.1 DT8 ULTRA+ does not disappoint at all, as large in size and equipped with HD resolution. In particular we find ourselves in the presence of a panel from 2,1 inches with resolution 420 x 485 pixel, 320 ppi, secured with a shockproof tempered glass, slightly below the main body just to protect against scratches. The display bezels aren't as thin as those of the Apple Watch Ultra, but for more WOW effect, you can choose between hundreds of free watchfaces present in the app, perhaps with a black background. There is some sort of functionality Always OnDisplay, but this remains active only for 30 seconds, even if we set the display to turn on at infinite values. We do not find a sensor for automatic lighting, forcing you to adjust it manually every time according to the situation you are in, but already at average values it is excellent on-screen readability of the contents under direct sunlight, as well as color reproduction with rather deep blacks.
Sensors, range and performance
At the level of battery, we find a unit from 280 mAh which gives at full capacity approx 4 days of autonomybefore needing to be reloaded. Charging is done by means of a wireless base typical of the Apple watch, in about 2,5 hours. Autonomy that corresponds to the basic expectations of this watch, since we can't find a GPS but the form Bluetooth 5.0 integrated allows you to make calls. We then have one IP68 certification, although among the sports that can be monitored there is no swimming, therefore not recommended for this activity. Just the sport paragraph, is not one of the strong points of this DT No.1 DT8 ULTRA+, in fact there are only 11 sports that can be monitored in all, but above all the dedicated metrics are always the same, for all sports, for example for Yoga we find the STEPS item: but since when have steps been taken in Yoga? I can however say that the reliability of the data collected is similar to a Mi Band 7, but the report is less complete and accurate. Strangely then, is that if we start an activity from the smartphone application, in order to have a GPS track, the cardio sensor will remain inactive. Pulse rate and SpO2 values are comparable to those of a pulse oximeter, while blood pressure, ECG and barometer readings are FAKE.
even the sleep monitor it is precise and reliable as expected from a smart watch, while in terms of additional features, the brand has included functions such as gods wrist games, respiratory relaxation, a sort of wrist massager, using the vibration of the smartwatch, but also the possibility of transferring a QR code created on a smartphone, on the watch display to always have it close at hand, like a digital business card.
We also have the NFC sensor, but of course this is not usable for payments, at least not in Italy (Alipay only), but we could use it as a sort of “remote control” to open the smart locks, a function that I could not try as it does not have an NFC tag. Via Bluetooth 5.0 we could instead make calls directly from the wrist, even being able to store favorite contacts, or we will be free to dial the number to call. The quality of the calls through the speaker is very satisfactory, as well as the microphone returns to our interlocutor a good quality level of our voice. Also at the software level there is a function that allows you to "clean" the speaker from any traces of liquid, if the smartwatch has been subjected to falls into water or rain, but this function has also turned out to be FAKE, so you should have a muffled sound due to the water, the only solution is to shake the watch wildly to remove the water residue from the speaker/microphone.
I appreciated that you can insert one Wake-up calls (up to 6) directly from the smartwatch without having to go through the application, while the rest of the functions are the standard ones we are used to with other similar devices, such as stopwatch, timer, weather, music control, remote shutter, etc. Speaking of music control, you can't control the volume from the watch. Under the smart scope, i.e. lupon receipt of notifications, unfortunately nothing to report, we can receive them not from all the apps on the smartphone, but the main ones are present, but we cannot answer, nor view photos, audio and even less emojis, or at least not all. Furthermore, notifications are not "synchronized" with viewing on smartphones, so if read on one or the other device, they will remain in memory on one or the other device.
Management application
The application with which to synchronize all data is called WearPro, available for systems Android e iOS. There are some smudges, such as a bad translation into the Italian language, but you can still change from the app Watchface, some of which are also animated and there are really a lot of them, one more beautiful than the other. For the rest we can view the historical data of steps, sleep, heart rate, pressure and SpO2, but above all set the smartwatch settings. Simple but functional app, but in general, in my opinion, those who buy watches of this kind do so purely for an aesthetic rather than a functional discourse.
DT No.1 DT8 ULTRA+ Price and conclusion
The wearable of the Chinese brand has made its debut on AliExpress at an introductory price of around 38 euros. Certainly at this price we would not have expected to compete with the original Apple Ultra, but I can say that this money is well spent. Lots of aesthetics, lots of compromises, but overall the typical functions of a low-cost smartwatch are performed in an excellent and satisfactory way. Good display, compatibility with accessories such as straps and display protectors of the original Apple, good autonomy and delicacies such as the wrist call, make this clone very interesting.
