Those who know me know that for a few years I have been a true FAN of VIVO phones, which I have always considered the best on the market. Before VIVO, I had the same feelings and beliefs about phones. OPPO which I have had anyway (Find X5, Find X6 and Find X7 Ultra) and with which I have always found myself very satisfied. Last year I tested the Find X8 Pro for a few days but I undoubtedly preferred the Vivo X200 Pro.
This year I wanted to restore my confidence in Oppo and decided to buy the Find the X9 Pro because I saw some HW features that intrigued me, like an absurd battery 7.500mAh in just 224Gr of weight and the advent of a periscope camera from 200Mpx like its Vivo cousins. Well, let's see if I made the right choice and if maybe this time it will win over the Vivo X300 Pro.

Oppo Find X9 PRO PACKAGE
My Find x9 Pro comes from the Chinese market, so the packaging isn't the same as the one sold here in Europe. If purchased on the Italian market, it won't include a case and, unfortunately, a charger. If you buy it in China, you'll save a lot of money but will have Chinese firmware. I'll discuss any potential issues later. The package includes:
- Oppo Find X9 PRO (with pre-installed screen protector)
- Rubberized cover
- 80W fast charger
- Type A – Type C charging cable
- Clip for removing SIM tray
- Various booklets
To say I'm satisfied with the package is an understatement. I hate buying a €1000 phone and not finding a charger, screen protector, and case because it would mean spending more money and wasting more time enjoying my new smartphone. Here, however, we have everything we need, so we can use it 100% right away.
AESTHETICS Oppo Find X9 PRO
From an aesthetic point of view, the famous Latin proverb “De gustibus non est disputandum” always applies, so I will tell you my opinion, which obviously remains a very personal consideration.
Let's start from a fundamental assumption: if you give me a 6.78" phone, with a 7.500mAh battery and weighing only 224Gr then for me you've already won everything! Just think that until last year the top Vivo models reached 232Gr with a 6.000mAh battery. So, net of everything else, from a construction point of view I give it a 10. Its dimensions are 161,26 × 76,46 × 8,25 mm, a metal frame and everything else in glass. It feels light in your pocket, but certainly less so than many, if not all, of its competitors.
The camera block is definitely more discreet than the classic porthole, and I have to say, I like it. It's heavy, but not too heavy, and the phone stays balanced and leans slightly on the right side—the bottom—to prevent it from falling forward if you're not holding it firmly.
On the right side we find the volume rocker, the power button and the physical button for taking photos, on the left a button that we can use for a function of our choice (which I will talk about later). Above the infrared transmitter and the system speaker. Below the Type C 3.2 (with video output) for charging and the second system speaker.
As for the color, I chose red and I have to say, it's simply gorgeous! It's unclear if this color will be available in Europe, but if it doesn't, it would be a real shame!

DISPLAY Find X9 PRO
Always at the TOP the Display which this time abandons the curved form factor and orients itself towards a flat design, with very thin 1.1mm bezels. The brightness reaches a peak of 3.600 Nits which may not be the best on the market but it is undoubtedly an excellent level that will allow us to see very well even under direct sunlight. The maximum refresh rate is 120Hz, in line with the refresh rate that today appears to be a standard, but the advice is to leave it set in automatic mode in order to take advantage of the technology LPT extension which will adjust the refresh rate based on the content we are viewing. In some scenarios, such as theAOD, will go down to 1Hz with significant energy savings. So I strongly recommend leaving the refresh rate on AUTOMATIC.
As usual, I tested it with games, films and TV series and I have to say that you can almost even think about abandoning the tablet and enjoying these contents on this smartphone. The touch sampling rate is 240Hz, so you won't lose any commands even when going at the speed of light!
The colors are excellently calibrated and the settings are truly extensive. You can schedule dark mode, keep it always active or not use it, set it to your liking on three dark screen tones and much more. There are also three color tone settings (standard-natural-vivid), 5 system fonts, three display sizes (large-standard-small), as I mentioned before, three modes for setting the screen refresh rate (auto-60Hz-120Hz) and many other settings. In short, the display is definitely one of this smartphone's strong points.

We then find an infinite number of customizations, a classic of Chinese ROMs, for the background, themes, icons, fonts, and AOD. You can download hundreds from the store or use the beautiful default ones. In short, let's just say you won't get bored with this Oppo Find X9 Pro.

Find X9 PRO BATTERY
Here we find the most sensational gem of this phone, that is an absurd battery of well 7.500mAhMost of you probably have no idea how powerful your phone's battery is because, ultimately, it's all about battery life. But battery life depends precisely on capacity, and I can tell you that in smartphones sold today, the average battery is around 5.000/5.500mAh, with exaggerated numbers reaching 6.000. Honestly, I'd only seen 7.500mAh on rugged phones... so what can I say? Kudos to OPPO for this battery and for managing to fit it into a phone weighing just 224g!
As I was saying, battery life goes hand in hand with battery size, so our Oppo Find X9 Pro will reach truly impressive figures. I've never managed to drain it beyond 60% in a day of heavy use. About 6 hours of display-on time, mixed 5G/Wi-Fi, 3 hours of hotspot, photos/videos, WhatsApp/Telegram, FB/IG social media, and a few calls.
I think these excellent values are also due to the perfect CPU management of a truly optimized software, Color OS 6.
Fast charging remains 80W which allows a full charge in less than an hour, wireless charging up to 50W and a reverse charge from 10W (and with 7500mAh battery you will surely use it to charge other devices)
Oppo Find X9 PRO CAMERA

In this chapter we look at the most important and anticipated aspect of this smartphone, the photographic quality and in particular the main one and the periscope, which is actually double (the only model on the market with this feature).
MAIN PHOTO CAMERA
Let's start from the main camera which is the brand new sensor Sony Lytia 828 with very wide focal aperture f / 1.5, equivalent 23 mm, size 1 / 1.28 ", 1.22µm, multi-directional PDAF, and optical image stabilization. Without further ado, the quality of the shots, in all lighting conditions, is excellent, with room for improvement that will come with software optimization. The collaboration with Hasselblad, which has lasted a few years, bears fruit in software processing that I certainly consider among the best I've tested. The colors are always very close to real life. Even the slightest saturation applied does not affect, as with other brands whose names I won't mention... or distort the reality we're photographing. Portraits, landscapes, objects, and night photos are good. The usual "sea" of settings and filters/corrections for photos are present, a camera software that is probably the best on the market. If you love editing your photos, then you've come to the right place.

ZOOM CAMERA (PERSICOPE)
This is a first for Oppo, as it has always used a dual periscope sensor setup. This time, perhaps given the exceptional results achieved by its cousins Vivo, we find a single sensor. Samsung HP5 by well 200Mpx, focal opening f / 2.1, equivalent 70 mm, size 1 / 1.56 ", 0.5µm, 3x optical zoom, multi-directional PDAF, OIS.
As we can see from the sensor's data sheet, we have an optical zoom of up to 3x while the digital one reaches up to 120x.
Compared to last year's Find X8 Pro, the improvement is truly evident. The photos are very sharp, with very little noise up to 30x, very good stabilization up to 60x and acceptable even at 120x. I've done many comparisons with the VIVO X300 PRO, which I still consider the best camera phone of this late 2025, and I must say that the differences are truly minimal and only noticeable by having overlapping shots. Even at night, the sensor manages to do an excellent job, although it's obvious that increasing the zoom decreases the photo quality (as with any other smartphone). Here are some samples taken at 1x, 6x, 30x, 60x, and 120x. The final judgment is up to you; you've already figured out mine!

ULTRA WIDE CAMERA
The ultra-wide-angle sensor is a Samsung JN1 50 MP, f/2.0, 15mm equivalent, 120˚, 1/2.76″, 0.64µm, multi-directional autofocus. This camera also takes good photos, with a wide angle of up to 120° and good macro shots. Here are a few shots to give you an idea.

SELFIE CAM
As I always say, I'm not a selfie fan, so I can't give you a very accurate opinion. However, we find a 50MP, f/2.0, 21mm (wide), 1/2.76" aperture, 0.64µm, PDAF. HDR is present and works very well! You can notice it with selfies with bright backgrounds where you notoriously risk burning the sky or underexposing the photographed subject to maintain the right brightness of the sky. Here too, I'll post a bit of a demo.

VIDEO
I think the videos are good; even in backlit situations, they offer excellent performance. The maximum resolution achievable is 4K at 120fps or 8K at 30fps. I'm sticking with my classic FHD/4K at 30/60fps, partly because they're more than enough to avoid making 2-minute, 10GB videos! Even the zoomed videos are well-stabilized and have good detail. Naturally, the further you go, the more difficult it will be to avoid blurring. Here are some examples!
GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS CAMERA
It was hard to imagine that a non-ultra smartphone, the kind of model that is par excellence dedicated to photography, could challenge the primacy of its peer Vivo. What am I talking about? Obviously, the comparison between this Find the X9 Pro and Vivo X300 Pro. And yet this year Oppo has succeeded in the feat! The shots we will obtain will always be almost perfect in any lighting condition and in any zoom condition. This is in fact where Oppo has accelerated and has brought itself close to Vivo, in the shots with the periscope sensor which we remember today as a 200mpx Samsung HP5From the many comparisons I've made, I can say that Vivo is probably still slightly ahead in the periscope field, with better stabilization and better definition when zooming. Today, it would be difficult for me to give a definitive opinion on which smartphone, in my opinion, takes better pictures with the main camera, given that with the periscope, I put Vivo a step ahead. In any case, I can assure you that where you fall, you'll land on your feet!
This Find X9 Pro is an absolute top-notch camera phone!
FIRMWARE
As for firmware, we find COLOR OS 16 with Android 16. In the global version, you will obviously find all the features in Italian and perfectly usable, while in the Chinese version, mine to be clear, you will have limitations in the use of Breeno, the proprietary AI assistant. Some functions remain enabled, such as the very useful Breeno Touch (below is a video sample), and they can be used while others unfortunately can only be managed in Chinese.
Is it a big problem? I don't think so, especially since there are excellent alternatives like Gemini and ChatGPT that we can use without any problems, even if some features remain the prerogative of the AI integrated into the firmware. The only software that won't work on the Chinese version is Google Voice Assistant (hey Google). Or rather, Google Assistant works but can't be activated via voice command; you'll need to launch it manually from the icon. If you use it extensively, keep that in mind if you're considering purchasing this version. Everything else is fine: Google services, Play Store, Italian language, NFC payments with Google Wallet, banking apps, Android Auto, and third-party app notifications on AOD. If you buy it from our partner site TRADINGSHENZHEN (where I bought it), it will come with the Play Store already installed. Below is the link to download the app. PLAY STORE If you buy it from a store that doesn't install it before shipping your phone, don't worry; it's a simple APK to download and install. Here's a summary table of what you can and can't do.
| Function | SI | DO NOT |
| OTA updates | X | |
| Italian Language Menu | X | |
| Applications in Italian – Italian keyboard | X | |
| Google services | X | |
| Google Play applications | X | |
| Notifications Lock screen – Notification bar | X | |
| AOD notifications | X | |
| BT connection with the machine | X | |
| Android AUTO | X | |
| Google Wallet | X | |
| Volta | X | |
| Google voice assistant | X | X |
| Alexa voice assistant | X | |
| YES IT IS | X | |
| Assistant Breeno | X | X |
As you can see, most of the essential features are present. You'll have all the OTA updates (and very quickly, too), all the app notifications, the ability to pay with NFC via Google Wallet, and Bluetooth connectivity with the car, Android Auto. Notifications from third-party apps, those you install yourself like WhatsApp, Facebook, etc., are present on the Always on Display (i.e., the screen that's always on). The AOD is also very sophisticated, with plenty of customization. There's also the option to RECORD CALLS with the default dialer. As for the AI assistant Breeno, I've set it to unavailable, but some functions will still be available. There's no option to use an e-SIM.
APPLICATION SETTINGS
For all the apps you install, you'll have a ton of settings for notifications, battery saving, auto-start, background execution, and much more. So my advice: if you experience any issues, don't worry; you'll probably just need to go into the specific settings and configure the individual apps as you prefer. I remind you that on Chinese versions of operating systems, auto-start is almost always disabled. What does this mean? When you start the phone, or obviously after a reboot, apps that haven't been manually set to auto-start won't launch, so you won't receive notifications. You'll have to open them manually the first time. To set them to auto-start and avoid having to go through this step, simply go to: settings-applications-auto-start and enable the ones you want. With the Color 16, this should be done by default when the system recognizes a social or messaging app, but always keep an eye out if you're not receiving notifications after a phone reboot.
The ability to limit the use of background apps is excellent, which I find very useful, especially with overly demanding apps like Facebook. With this option, when the screen turns off, the app will be blocked and will not consume battery power. Obviously, this way, you won't receive notifications and you'll have to open the app and refresh it to see them. The app cloning feature is also a good feature, perfect for those who use different accounts for a single app (like Instagram, Facebook).

CUSTOMIZABLE BUTTON
Gone is the beloved "alert slider," borrowed from its cousin OnePlus for a while. For those who weren't familiar with the feature, the physical slider that allowed us to switch between ringer and mute/vibrate mode is now available. I really loved it because it was incredibly convenient: with a single gesture (even while keeping the phone in your pocket), you could mute the phone, which was very useful at the movies, for example. But don't worry, it's been replaced by a physical button. Several options have been added to the functionality of this button; in this video, I'll show you the possible combinations.
APPLICATION SETTINGS
For all the apps you install, you'll have a wealth of settings for notifications, battery saving, auto-start, background execution, and much more. So my advice is, if you experience any issues, don't worry; you'll probably just need to go into the specific settings and configure the individual apps as you prefer.
OTHER
If I were to list all the settings in Color OS16, this article would probably become a cheat sheet... so I'll only talk about the features I liked the most, hoping to give you a little help in deciding whether or not to purchase it. For me, the ability to set a timer for when it turns on and off is essential; I use it regularly and it's perfect for those like me who use an alarm clock but want to turn off their phone at night. There's also the app cloning feature, a feature I use and which, for example, I didn't find on day one on the Pixel 8 Pro (not a €200 phone). The ability to edit and modify your photos is truly comprehensive thanks to the very well-designed stock gallery app. Here you can find countless filters, crops, watermarks, retouches, stickers and, of course, AI-powered adjustments to remove objects, people, and more. There's also the option to compensate, re-light, perfect shot, sharpen, refocus, and remove reflections. I find refocusing and sharpening truly exceptional tools, often perfect for fixing our shots. Here are some demos of object removal. For some features, such as AI, you'll need to create an OPPO account.

4G/5G NETWORKS
A fundamental chapter is that of the frequency bands used by our Find X9 Pro. I'm obviously talking about the Chinese model because the global one obviously has all the bands used here in Europe. To see if it works perfectly with your SIM, you'll have to match it with the bands used by your operator. I can tell you that in my case, WindTre, works very well and I've posted a video of a speed test carried out in the town where I live, 2000 inhabitants, not Milan... I'd say I can be satisfied and that there is full compatibility!
To be safe, I've posted the bands used by our imported Oppo Find X9 Pro below so you can check if your operator's bands are present:
2G GSM: 850/900/1800MHz
3G WCDMA: Bande 1/2/4/5/6/8/19
4G LTE FDD: Bande 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/17/18/19/20/25/26/28/66
4G LTE TDD: Bande 34/38/39/40/41/42/43/48
5G NR: n1/n2/n3/n5/n7/n8/n12/n18/n20/n25/n26/n28/n34/n38/n39/n40/n41/n48/n66/n77/n78/n79
PROJECTED IMPACT
So, after this in-depth analysis, let's get to the conclusions. The Oppo Find X9 Pro is probably the most balanced phone of the 3 I tested, I remind you of the Vivo X300 Pro and OnePlus 15. It has very powerful hardware with the CPU Mediatek Dimension 9500 which I consider the best on the market today, an absurd autonomy thanks to a crazy battery of well 7500mAh, some of the best software on the Android market, and a camera that will allow you to take perfect photos in any situation. Maybe the Vivo is a little ahead in photos with extreme zoom, maybe the OnePlus 15 has a better display, but overall, despite my unconditional love for Vivo, this time around I'll choose the Find X9 Pro!
The list price of the version 16 / 512Gb is 1299€ But you can buy it on the official website with several interesting bundles. I must say that the price is absolutely in line with what the phone offers, and if we compare it to other competing brands—I won't name names—it's definitely affordable!
If you then want to buy it from China, with the very few software limitations I mentioned above, then the savings will be truly sensational. TradingShenzhen, our partner site, you can take it home starting from 727€ for the 256Gb version and only 817€ for the 16/512GB version! It will arrive in about 10 business days without annoying customs duties thanks to priority shipping. To protect your purchases, you can pay with PayPal and the phone will arrive with the PlayStation Store already installed and therefore ready to use. Please remember that in the Chinese packaging you will also find the original 80W charger and the original OPPO rubberized case.
Well, now the choice is yours! I can only congratulate OPPO for this amazing Find X9 Pro!
