Leak: Xiaomi's foldable will adopt a similar design to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2
Well, today, a well-known Chinese blogger who goes by the name of “Digital Chat Station” just reported some updates on the upcoming device. Digital Chat Station has indeed revealed that Xiaomi's foldable will adopt an internal structure design similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2, as well as a foldable hinged screen solution.
In fact, almost all folding screen smartphones currently on the market adopt a hinged design to achieve the folding effect. In fact, this design allows to support the bending movement well, without facing breakages or other serious problems.
That said, the hinge is also a weak point in foldable screen smartphones currently on the market. For example, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold had a flaw in the hinge design, with a high amount of dust particles getting inside the hinge, worsening the user experience in the long run. This is also why Samsung delayed the sale of the Z Fold and then reimbursed unsatisfied users.
In addition to the hinge, the folding mode of the screen is also an important parameter regarding the foldable category. There are in fact different forms of folding, one inwards and one outwards, which lead to a completely different use and duration of the screen depending on the type.
Returning to Xiaomi's foldable, according to previous reports, the first Xiaomi folding will adopt an in-fold design, i.e. with internal folding. This should better protect the screen from wear in the long run.
In any case, Xiaomi's folding screen smartphone is expected to use a foldable OLED panel provided by Samsung, with a specific size of 8,03 inches. At the same time, the smartphone will also be equipped with a 6,38-inch rear (or front) secondary screen, which will allow us to check some essential information without having to open the smartphone.
