For Google, Apple is "stuck in the 90s"

Google continues to actively criticize the state of the art ofApple's proprietary Messages application. The search giant says the service's development is stuck in the 90s. With this, the Mountain View giant is once again trying to push Tim Cook's company to switch to a modern version of SMS. But will he succeed? Let's say that it's not words that solve the story, but let's see in detail what Google says to Apple.

According to Google, Apple's Messages application is stuck 30 years ago. We need a revolution and even the Apple must update

Il post “indicted” appeared on the official Google blog, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the sending of the very first SMS. At its core, the company talks about advantages of the RCS short message protocol (Rich Communication Services). Among them is the use of end-to-end encryption, which means greater safety for correspondence, the ability to send photos and videos, view delivery and read messages, group chats, reactions and other modern features.

We read on the page:

Today, all major mobile operators and manufacturers have adopted RCS as a standard, with the exception of Apple. Apple refuses to accept RCS and continues to rely on SMS for people with iPhones to message people with Android phones, meaning their text messages are stuck in the 90s

Google hopes Apple will listen and switch to using RCS so that the users on different platforms can communicate with each other using a modern and secure standard. However, Apple has its own messaging service iMessage as well for easy communication between Android and iOS. Then there are Telegram, Viber, WhatsApp and other cross-platform instant messaging applications.

But having said that: who still uses SMS? Maybe countries that don't yet have decent internet coverage can take advantage of the service? Tell us yours.
