Google has officially unveiled the Pixel 9a, the cheapest model of the Pixel 9 series; let's find out together!
Google Pixel 9a Official With Tensor G4 Chip And 7 Years Of Updates
The Pixel 9a adopts a design in line with the other devices in the Pixel 9 series, but with some notable differences compared to its predecessor, the Pixel 8a. The front is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 panel with flat edges that blend into an equally flat aluminum frame. On the back we find a flat polycarbonate panel, a choice that creates a minimalist and modern aesthetic. Also, for the first time in the A series, the phone is IP68 certified, ensuring resistance to dust and water.
The screen is a panel 6,3 inch pOLED slightly larger than previous models, with a resolution of 2424×1080 and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The display reaches a maximum brightness of 1800 nits for HDR content and a peak of 2700 nits, making it one of the brightest screens in its price range. However, HDR support is limited to 8-bit color depth. The optical fingerprint reader is integrated under the display.
The Pixel 9a is powered by the new Google Tensor G4 chip paired with the Titan M2 security coprocessor. The basic configuration includes 8GB of RAM and options for 128GB or 256GB of internal storage.
Another novelty is the camera system. The 64MP main sensor of the previous models has been replaced by a 48MP f/1.7 camera with Quad PD Dual Pixel autofocus and optical image stabilization (OIS), capable of recording 4K video at 60fps. ultra-wide camera remains at 13MP (f/2.2), while the front camera, also 13MP, supports 4K video at 30fps. Among the new photography features we find the Macro Focus mode, which allows you to capture close-up details, and Astrophotography, which allows you to photograph the starry sky.
The Pixel 9a features a larger 5100mAh battery, with a declared autonomy of over 30 hours. The device supports a fast wired charging up to 23W and Qi wireless charging.
The phone comes with Android 15 pre-installed and all the latest Google AI features. Plus, it comes with seven years of software and security updates, confirming Google's commitment to the longevity of its devices.
Available in Obsidian, Porcelain, Iris and Peony colors, and with an starting price of 549 euros, the device will be available starting in April.
