OpenAI presents GPT-4o: what it is and what it is capable of
GPT-4o is described as an “omni” version (hence the “o” in the name), as it integrates multiple interaction modes: text, vision and now, voice. This model offers real-time response to users' questions, allowing them to interrupt the system while it responds and even to change the application along the way. Additionally, it can recognize emotions in the user's voice and respond appropriately, varying the emotional style of responses, up to and including singing responses.

In addition to voice interactions, GPT-4o Greatly enhances ChatGPT's visual capabilities. For example, it can now quickly answer questions about photographs or screenshots, identifying details such as the brand of a T-shirt or the contents of a displayed software code. Additionally, access to previously paid features, such as the ability to “remember” user preferences, is now extended to all users.
