HIFIXPLAY Q Smart TV Box: Our Review
More and more friends and acquaintances, but I too, are asking me if it is worth spending hundreds of euros to switch television or if there is some economic solution to make your own More "smart" TV. Thanks to the online store Gearbest, who kindly granted the sample to trial, I can answer them and my question.

Packaging
HIFIXPLAY Q is contained in a box well cared for with the main features of the Smart Tv Box on the various sides of the box. Content includes all you need to use right away the TV Box, as we find beyond the same also thepower supply unit with European connection (so no adapters are needed), HDMI cable, remote control (not the two AAA batteries) and finally the manuals in English but easy to understand even if it is useless as it will be enough to connect the food, the HDMI cable to your TV and turn on the box.

Thanks to the processor Amlogic S912 coupled with the GPU Mali -T820MP3 you can also enjoy content in 3D as well as enjoy some gameplay (as compatible) directly from the TV Box, maybe by pairing a Bluetooth controller to make the gaming experience even more exciting.
Remote control
The standard remote control is very simple and without so many frills, if not essential ones. She does what she needs and is provided with Mouse function to move through the screens using the arrows around the OK button. It's not as fast as an Air Mouse but it still works. In any case, I recommend the purchase of a mini wireless keyboard with integrated touchpad mouse easily available for a few euros in the most varied stores but even more at Gearbest. In any case, there are the function buttons Home, Back and Multitasking: the latter did not succeed in making it work and therefore I opted for the installation of an application for optimize RAM closing all active applications. Additionally the button for Vol +/- and direct access to the APP and the TV Box Settings. While the buttons dedicated to the TV CONTROL they are almost useless giving the impression that the remote control is more a universal model than a specific one. There construction is still of quality, with good grip and good response from the keys.
Software and Performance
HIFIXPLAY Q is not just a multimedia box, as we have the ability to play, enjoy streaming, surf the internet etc .. According to my modest opinion on the multimedia side the box makes sparks. We have no problem playing local video files with support up to 4K 60fps in various formats such as AVI, H.264, H.265, MOV, MP4, WMV etc .. We do not find any problems even when playing streaming files. We also find DLNA, AirPlay and Miracast although in this case the performance is somewhat swinging.
Already installed we find applications such as Netflix, Facebook, Twitter and Youtube with performance above expectations. But we find the real gem with streaming via the web thanks to the application Kodi with which we can, through ad hoc plug-ins, enjoy an endless multimedia content park as well as watch TV in case you have antenna disturbances (as I unfortunately have), enjoy yours favorite series and see football games and unfortunately that can not be deepened, but it will be enough to do network searches to find the resources of the case.
HIFIXPLAY Q is moved by the operating system Android 6.0 Marshmallow which makes the system very fluid thanks to the proprietary interface that is very simple and intuitive. In fact we find gods macro blocks in which all the functions of the TV Box are enclosed. Most important, however, are the Lock Settings where you can customize some features, such as choosing whether to turn the box on or off in standby mode with the power button on or off. Another important block is that of the APP, particularly clean compared to other TV Boxs because there are only the applications we really need without therefore weighing the memory.
Browsing is possible through the stock browser even if it is not really nice but you can always fall back on alternative browsers like Chrome that improve the user experience.
It is possible through the Bluetooth 4.0 connect keyboards, mouse, joypad and anything else to enrich the functions of the Box TV. So I think that HIFIXPLAY Q responds to the initial question by confirming that it is not necessary to spend hundreds of euros to enjoy the smart world of TV, indeed perhaps far exceeds the potential that the TV alone.
Price
HIFIXPLAY Q currently costs around €49.45 with Free Shipping included. It is difficult to find better without (also depends on the point of view) but for sure the box will give you more satisfaction than you expect.
