I have. Mobile: here's how to configure the APN for tethering on Xiaomi, OnePlus & Co.

A few days ago we talked about the new mobile operator IliadIn particular, we have not dealt with issues such as tariffs, services or anything else, but rather the fact that in case your Xiaomi does not have 20 band support, it is likely to be affected by some inefficiency during navigation with 4G LTE signal. A ruckus has been unleashed, and I'm happy, for the simple fact that it's nice to share your thoughts, or better your experience, this is the sense of a community. That said, the antagonal par excellence of Iliad is the new operator ho. Mobile that exploits the Vodafone infrastructure, as it is the company that acts as godmother. Also in this case I will not talk about coverage, offers or other, but of the fact that many have foundor some problems in sharing internet browsing through the tethering functionality.

I have. mobile

In fact, as you know, the latest generation smartphones allow their own smartphone to use as a portable hotspot and then share their Giga with other users and devices, such as smartphones, PCs, tablets, etc. .. In the case of ho. mobile and Iliad The service is free, yet some users smartphone owners Xiaomi and OnePlus have had some headache in using the feature.  In reality, the problem seems to be extended to all Dual SIM devices, but anyway if you are also having problems or some of your friends, then just follow this simple guide to better configure the APN of ho. Mobile, taking advantage of the tethering on your trusted phone to 100%.

I have. Mobile: here's how to configure the APN for tethering on Xiaomi, OnePlus & Co.

First you need to create a new APN by going to the menu SETTINGS ➡️ SIM AND MOBILE NETWORKS ➡️ SELECT THE SIM HOUSE CARD. MOBILE ➡️ APN ➡️ NEW APN. This step will be carried out twice since the first APN will serve the classic internet browsing, so without sharing the Giga available, while the second APN that you will create will serve the functionality of tethering. In fact if you forget to switch the APN nothing will happen, or better you can browse in standard mode even with the APN dedicated to tethering but you can not do the opposite, ie you can not take advantage of the classic APN for the function of data sharing .

  • APN type: not set
  • APN protocol: IPv4 / IPv6
  • Roaming protocol: IPv4 / IPv6
  • Type MNVO: IMSI

Here is the APN for data sharing on Dual SIM smartphones:

  • APN: internet.ho-mobile.it
  • MCC: 222
  • MNC: 10
  • APN type: default, sup, dun
  • APN protocol: IPv4 / IPv6
  • Roaming protocol: IPv4 / IPv6
  • Type MVNO: GID
  • MVNO value: 20

I followed the instructions of the article step by step but still I could not configure my redmi note 6 pro for tethering. Specifically, after setting the first configuration for web browsing everything is still ok, but the second APN configuration for tethering does not save me. Help me please!

Hello, I am a Xiaomi user temporarily loaned to Nubia, I currently have an M2 which I can be satisfied with except that I could not tether with the HO-mobile, I tried them all ... but absolutely all but to no avail until I I came across this "old" guide: http://www.androidiani.com/forum/vodafone/362047-guida-tethering-con-vodafone-no-root.html I ran the guide "without root" and taaac tethering started … The problem also seems to consist of an “old” setup that vodafone has “left” in HO-Mobile and that phones with a not very recent version of Android suffer. Changed the string, fixed the problem. I hope... Read the rest »

Hi Tommaso,

I had your same problems with Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus and I solved it like this:

- I did the reset of the default APNs (by default it restored the Vodafone APNs)
- I added the APN for classic navigation, saving it with the name “Acc. Internet from cell "
- I added the APN for tethering saving it with the name "Thetering internet"

In this way it allowed me to save both APNs and I solved the problem.
Reply here if you solve the problem, so Emanuele can eventually update the guide.

1) Both APNs must be placed, and in order: first the one to navigate, then the one for tethering.

2) Double check step by step that you have copied and entered all the settings exactly as described ... I did the same trick too, but it was I who was skipping some settings.

3) When you set them all, press the button at the bottom and before exiting choose "save"

Sorry but does it only with this APN or with others? Safe to save correctly?
