Honor, a well-known smartphone manufacturer, has just introduced a new device in its foldable series: the Magic V Flip. This is the company's first clamshell device.

Il 4 inch skirt offers a resolution of 1.092 x 1.200 pixels (405 ppi), a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, a maximum brightness of 1.600 nits and a high-frequency PWM modulation of 2.160 Hz. The large diagonal of the screen is intelligently used to divide content, such as apps, in 16:9 mode, thus improving scalability and supporting a horizontal division to watch videos with a control panel on the bottom half.
The device also offers numerous options forAlways on Display (AoD) and the ability to run full-screen apps directly on the external display. Honor has also implemented continuity features that automatically expand apps when you switch between the external screen and the main screen.
Il main display is a 6,8-inch LTPO OLED with FHD+ resolution, an aspect ratio of 21:9 and a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. It boasts a peak brightness of 3.000 nits, covers 92% of the BT.2020 color space and is Dolby Vision certified.
The Magic V Flip folds completely flush and It measures 14,89mm when closed and 7,5mm when open. It uses a proprietary hinge mechanism developed by Honor with lightweight sheet steel components and an aluminum frame.
The smartphone is equipped with the Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, Together with up to 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of internal storage. Honor has also managed to integrate an ultra-thin 0,25mm liquid cooling plate that covers a heat dissipation area of 2.300mm.
As for the camera, the Magic V Flip comes with one main 50 MP with Sony IMX906 sensor (1/1.56″ size and f/1.9 aperture) with OIS and a 12 MP ultrawide module which also acts as a macro lens. It also features a front camera from 50 MP with IMX816 sensor equipped with autofocus capability.
On the software side, the device is managed by MagicOS 8.0 based on Android 14, While the battery has a capacity of 4.800 mAh and supports the quick charge from 66W.
The Magic V Flip is available in colors Iris Black, Camellia White and Champagne Pink. A limited edition Jimmy Choo version is also planned, featuring green glitter inspired by high-fashion shoes and their crystal adornments.
Prices and availability
In China, the price for the 12/256 GB version starts from 4999 Yuan, which corresponds to approximately 640 euros. The high-end model with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of internal memory costs 5999 Yuan, equal to approximately 768 euros.
