The new Honor Magic5 Lite, already available on the official website, was launched quietly for a couple of days without a real presentation but apparently the device has already passed through the hands of the DxOMark team who seem to have tested the battery compartment; let's find out how the Chinese mid-range behaved!
Honor Magic5 Lite is the new champion of autonomy on Dxomark
As you may have already guessed from the title, theHonor Magic5 Lite performed very well in the DxOMark battery test, with excellent results in terms of autonomy, recharge and efficiency.
In particular DxOMark claims that the autonomy of the Magic5 Lite has been one of the best tested so far with more than 3 days when used moderately. The same regarding the autonomy with heavy use which according to the testers was impressive with almost 2 full days and among the best ever seen. Furthermore, the smartphone seems to have done well in all the different use cases, especially in video streaming and gaming, both indoors and outdoors, therefore with WiFi and 4G / 5G connectivity.
On the negative, the DxOMark team noted that the battery indicator is inaccurate and it turned out to be the main weakness of the device in the user experience. For example it was found that when the display showed the battery at 20%, the real capacity was actually around 16%. Also, the device would automatically shut down even at 1%.
As for recharging instead, the smartphone did very well. In fact, thanks to the 40 W charging support, it was possible to recharge the same from zero to 100% in 1 hour and 51 minutes. While a 5-minute quick charge provided an average of 6 hours of battery life. Unfortunately, a problem with the display of the percentage of charge was also noted, with charging continuing over 36 minutes after the device showed 100%.
In general, according to DxOMark the Honor Magic5 Lite has both excellent autonomy and fast charging, which is why it ranked first in the ranking.
