As you well know buying a Xiaomi notebook brings a benefit in terms of performance related to the selling price but we can not hide that saving money will all be invested in time to devote to the initial setting of the notebook, because alas will come to your home completely in Chinese.
So be comfortable and keep reading this guide that will come back to you in a future purchase, or maybe when some of your friends are in panic and you can say with your chest voice:
Ehy, friend, go to www.xiaomitoday.it and follow the guide on how to convert your Xiaomi notebook from Chinese to Italian.
Let us first point out that This guide works with all kinds of notebooks manufactured by Xiaomi whether it is the 12.5, the 13.3 or the latest one, the Mi Notebook Pro, since they all mount the version Windows 10 64 bit Home Edition single language in Chinese. I say that most likely the product key already on the notebook to convert will not work but try not to get hurt and so before you leave with each action you will have to extract the product key from your notebook and to do this you will need to right-click on the windows icon at the bottom left (say the start menu) and from the menu that appears you will have to choose start a power shell window in administrator mode. From the screen that opens you will need to type the following command:
wmic path SoftwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey
At this point annotate or save the code somewhere obtained in that you will need to activate Windows 10 in Italian. Now you need to get yourself a USB stick with capacities of at least 8 GB (but I I would recommend one by 16 GB), which will help you to install the Windows 10 files on your Xiaomi notebook. Therefore download the Media Creation Tool click here or from the button below.
Now start the tool's executable that will guide you to create a flash drive for the Windows 10 installation.
In the end you will find yourself with the key that will have to return the following files.
When you're done you will also need to download the Mi Tong Bu application, a kind of Mi Store enriched by some features, where you will find all the drivers needed for the Xiaomi notebook, since after the clean installation of Windows 10 in Italian, the notebook will not have any drivers inside.
The next step is in the 'enter the BIOS settings of the Xiaomi notebook. Practically on startup, soon after the MI logo has appeared, you will have to press F2. At this point move on the BOOT tag and choose the Boot Device Order option.
Now make sure that the created flash unit is the first one to start, then press F10 and save the settings.
Your Xiaomi notebook will restart by loading the 10 installation. When the WINDOWS WINDOW window select the 'option I DO NOT HAVE A PRODUCT KEY CODE.
Choose the WINDOWS 10 HOME version, accept the license terms, and then choose PERSONALIZE to the type of installation to be performed. Now click on the larger size drive (should be the 3 partition) and choose FORMAT
Now Windows 10 Home will be installed on your Xiaomi notebook and you will be prompted at boot.
Now there is nothing left enable Windows by using the product key you extracted earlier. If it does not work, you will have to opt in to purchase a license, install a Linux distributor or ... well the fantasy of the gadget is infinite and thanks to the old and dear Google search engine you can find the solution to your problems.
That said install the Mi Tong Bu application downloaded earlier and at the launch of the same log in with the Xiaomi account which you typically use. At this point, click on the second left-hand icon, the arrow-shaped one in a circle, and then the yellow icon with an arrow inside.
At this point you have to choose your notebook. You will be directed to a further screen from which you can downloading individual drivers or clicking on the "gift" icon will start downloading all the drivers collected in a single zip file.
Once you've downloaded all the drivers and installed them there is nothing left to do two small beasts. The first is that of customize your desktop using Xiaomi's classic wallpapers and you can download it by clicking on the button below.
The last step is instead customize the OEM interface with the MI logo. To do so, download the application by clicking on the button below and then copying the information as shown in the photo, naturally changing the template according to the type of product you own.
I hope the guide has come back to you and that now you will have no more excuses for not killing you with the "modding" of your Xiaomi Mi Notebook. So also follow us on Telegram channel, where we will report the best deals for Xiaomi notebooks.
