Today, Huami Technology held the first "Huami Technology AI Innovation Conference" in Hefei, China. During the conference, the second generation of their second generation smart wearable chip with RISC-V architecture developed at home was officially released. The new cheap is called "Huangshan 2".

According to the official introduction, the Huangshan 2 has a high calculation efficiency and low energy consumption. It also comes with an NPU that uses the acceleration technology of the convolutional neural network, which significantly improves the data calculation performance thanks to AI. So for example the recognition speed of atrial fibrillation is now 7 times faster than that of the Huangshan 1 chip, which in turn was 26 times faster than a more common software algorithm.
The chip then has an integrated coprocessor called "C2", so even if the main chip is not in operation, the C2 coprocessor is always able to record 24 hours of data on our health. This theoretically leads to a 50% reduction in consumption, making it perhaps the best chip for wearables. In any case, the Huangshan 2 has already passed several tests and is expected to be mass-produced in the fourth quarter of this year.
In addition to the new processor, Huami has also released several motion detection products and other activities. These include ExerSense, which is a motion algorithm based on a great deal of data and which creates an intelligent motion model. This algorithm can currently recognize 19 sports modes, covering 95% of users' everyday sports scenes.
We then have RealBeats 2, the second generation heart rate algorithm, for effective monitoring of atrial fibrillation at night and during the day. This allows obtaining 1,87 times and 6,64 times more data than the first generation, therefore correct monitoring of atrial fibrillation is achieved in almost all weather conditions, as well as in cases of re-entering tachycardia and frequent premature supraventricular beats;
There is also the algorithm to calculate oxygen in the blood called OxygenBeats which uses the data collected by Huami to calculate the amount of oxygen in the blood with an accuracy improved by 50% compared to that of equipment without signal pre-processing. After passing several calibrations, the detection success rate has increased by 23% and the average error with a medical level oximeter is less than 1,67%. This algorithm will be released in the third quarter of this year.
Another product we will see in the future is SomnusCare, an algorithm that is able to accurately identify the three stages of sleep: light sleep, deep sleep and eye movement. The accuracy of the data recording of our sleeps of more than 25 minutes is now close to 100%. This, in combination with the OxygenBeats blood oxygen detection algorithm, is able to intelligently recognize sleep apnea syndrome and promptly alert users to quickly take countermeasures. Finally, Huami has also independently developed a new generation of high-precision optical sensors that support the blood oxygen and sleep detection algorithm. The new technology will be called BioTracker 2.
But Huami didn't stop there and at the conference held today she also made it official that the "Huami Artificial Intelligence Laboratory" has now become "Huami Technology Artificial Intelligence Research Institute". Dr. Wang Kongqiao, vice president of Huami Technology, will act as president, while Professor Ramesh Jain, one of the leading experts in the field of artificial intelligence and father of multimedia computing, will act as chief technical consultant.
The Huami Artificial Intelligence Laboratory has also launched a series of strategic cooperations and three new laboratories. These include the wrist wearable laboratory in cooperation with Professor Zhong Nanshan's team, the track and field laboratory set up jointly with the China Athletics Association and the brain-computer intelligent laboratory together with the Chinese Academy of Sciences Advanced Research Institute.
Finally, Huami Technology has also announced a formal collaboration with AI Unicorn Cloud Voice in the field of artificial voice and will collaborate in many fields such as wearable devices, Internet of things, smart cars and smart homes.
