Huami publishes the results of his health research carried out thanks to wearable devices

As we all know Huami is the company that supports Xiaomi in the production of We Band: this product is the most appreciated in the world when it comes to smartband and its importance does not stop at the features it incorporates. In fact, as we have repeatedly stressed, the company uses its algorithms but also its own wearable devices for research and especially focuses on health. For example, the first one was launched not long ago Coronavirus Symptom Screening Program. After a few months, the results of the first researches, collected within the "Blue Book".

The results of the health research carried out by Huami and Peking University First Hospital have been published: attention to the heart!

But what grace is this "Blue Book"? It is nothing more than a collection of data and studies done in collaboration between Huami and Peking University First Hospital within which there are all the news and results of research in the health sector. In particular, the "2020 Blue Book of Heart Health for Wearable Devices"Collects all those related to cardiovascular problems registered in the Chinese population using the company's wearables. Smart devices can help people continuously monitor their body data such as heart rate, sleep, exercise, etc. One of the most important data that emerged from this study concerns the factor “acceptance“: Almost all the users who took part in the project immediately and willingly accepted the use of wearable devices. Other than that you have been able to prove that younger users use this type of device on average for 15 hours a day, while those over 17 for about XNUMX hours. Ultimately, wearables have become an integral part of everyday life.

But in terms of concrete data, what does this research say? It may seem obvious, but in the age group of 60 and older, men have a greater age risk of heart attack and cardiovascular problems. In the graph above we see how in general the man, compared to the woman, is at greater risk in all age groups, but from 60 years of age the risk becomes critical. We avoid reporting all the other data as they are interesting only for some Chinese regions where the study was made. The important thing is that for the first time anprivate company how Huami has made its technology available to help users, young and old, keep their health high. We recall in this regard that starting from March 2020, the algorithm Huami's RealBeats (launched in 2019) analyzed 14.5 million ECG data and found over 4.000 users with suspected atrial fibrillation.

The precision of the functions ECG and PPG achieved an accuracy of 94.76% and with the second generation presented in June, signal interference has been almost eliminated leading to a greater speed in the transport of data from the human being to the wearable device. Finally it is important and necessary to remember that within this study they also took part eminent Italian personalities like Paolo Palatini (University of Padua) e Gianpaolo Reboldi (University of Perugia).
