The new update for Xiaomi Mi Max 3 introduces the anti-rollback mechanism

For some time now we have heard of the anti-rollback mechanism, a sort of technological scourge that no longer allows downgrade firmware on your device, going in a way to harm the principles of Open Sorce on which the Android operating system is based. Having said that, it seems that Xiaomi has introduced this mechanism on its terminals in order to maintain the stability of the system and ensure the safety of the equipment, and now this system is introduced also in the recent Mi Max 3.

The new update for Xiaomi Mi Max 3 introduces the anti-rollback mechanism

Starting from the MIUI beta 8.8.17 version or stable 9.6.12, it will no longer be possible to downgrade to versions earlier than those just mentioned otherwise the brick of the device is secured, and in the case of the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 we will find a cumbersome paperweight in our hands. So if you've upgraded to these versions, do not attempt to downgrade.

Xiaomi also reminds its users that if it is in the brick of their terminal, not just Mi Max 3, it will be possible contact customer service or contact authorized Chinese brand assistance points. At the moment there seems to be no home solutions to this problem, if not complex modding operations. Apparently Xiaomi is gradually introducing the anti-rollback mechanism on all its devices, so we only wonder who will be next?
