Fixes for Widevine L1 and "screen bleeding" for Pocophone F1

Xiaomi recently launched its first smartphone under the new sub-brand”Pocophone", called Pocophone F1, with specifications similar to a top-of-the-range phone but at a very competitive price, in line with the mid-range.

Although this device is counted among the best alternatives to the very expensive top of the range, it has faced some criticism due to certain software problems, including the lack of support for HD streaming and screen bleeding. At a time when steaming has become the main means for video playback, the harshest criticisms have concerned this aspect. This week thanks to user reports, which we remember are the foundations of the Xiaomi brand, they will solve this ugly worry: in fact, support is missing Widevine L1 which prevents the device from playing HD content from video services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. Now, one discussion of two days ago on the forum by the administrator of the MIUI Forum "candicesureveals that the company is working with Google e Qualcomm to solve this problem.

The update is expected to roll out to MIUI Beta ROM users before the end of the month.

As for screen bleeding instead, the company had released one declaration relating to the problem and argued

"...a few POCO Fl users mentioned they experienced “screen bleeding”, owing to a bright gradient on the bottom of the display on certain screens. We would like to clarify that certain screens on MIUI 9 (MIUI for POCO) feature a gradient by design (including the power screen), and this is not screen bleeding... "

i.e. that some screenshots on MIUI 9 (MIUI for Pocophone) have a gradient in the underlying part of the spartphone (including the power screen) which would go back to a design problem and which is not actually screen bleeding.

He then added that the fix will be present with the update to stable MIUI 10. Recall that the device is equipped with a Full HD + IPS LCD display from 6,18 inches, protected by a glass of Gorilla Glass type.

All F1 owners just have to wait a few days to have a DEFINITIVE top of the range.
