In test the "Sunlight Mode" for smartphones updated to MIUI 11

Xiaomi never stops and despite the delays that many users complain about, regarding the reception of the update a MIUI 11, continue to experiment. Today we start with a new modality unearthed by the team of XDA developers: these have discovered, in a build referring to the latest release of the brand's custom skin (on Redmi K20 Pro / Mi 9T Pro), a new one “Sunlight mode". This feature is clearly referred to of our smartphones but which ones? And above all, what is it? Let's see it together.

In test the "Sunlight Mode" for smartphones updated to MIUI 11

As the developers of the famous site remember, the brightness of the display is not a very common problem but still it is an existing problem. In these cases the builders should commit, together with all the staff behind the software side, to bring a remedy to this little flaw. It seems that Xiaomi is thinking about it and for this she would be introducing the "Sunlight mode". This new setting will bring the brightness of the display to the maximum level when you use the smartphone in direct sunlight and therefore when it is more difficult to see the screen.

In particular, the description for the solar light mode says that the function "[Adjust] brightness to strong ambient light when auto brightness is off". Digging in the intricacies of the framework code the team discovered that this new feature will be activated when ambient lighting exceeds 12.000 lux for 5 seconds: upon activation, the maximum brightness from our display will be reached automatically. When instead theambient lighting falls below 12.000 lux for 2 seconds, the display light comes on restored to the previous value. For the moment it is not known if one can be set automatic switch between automatic mode and Sunlight mode, but it would be a good idea if the MIUI team foresaw it.

This mode will be Useful for those (like me) who turn off automatic brightness and prefer to calibrate it manually based on the needs, considering also the probability that the the automatic one blows on the MIUI it's high enough. With this mode enabled, it will not be necessary to manually adjust the brightness to the 100% every time you exit. This function seems use only the ambient light sensor, so it will probably be available on most Xiaomi devices with MIUI 11 e it will not depend on the type of screen mounted on individual models.

How about? Is this new mode useful as a feature?

I think this feature is already present, although perhaps only in tests. Using my xiaomi mi 9t pro as a navigator (with automatic brightness turned off) when the sun was beating against the brightness it increased at its most by itself.

I confirm, great thing for those who use manual brightness (the automatic one always works badly and consumes much more battery)

Mam 8 Pro i MIUI 11, with the power of dystrybucji the mam takiej funkcji czego bardzo żałuję bo ta automatyczna jasność nie nie sprawdza zwłaszcza w dobie żarówek led. Zawsze wieczorem na automacie schodzi mi z jasnością za nisko i żeby cokolwiek zrobić na tel. muszę podciągać jasność.
Poradźcie so.
