If we talk about peripherals or hardware components that fall within the wide world of gaming products (all it takes is to have an RGB LED and be considered such), we generally think of mice and keyboards but the audio component is also important. So here I am to tell you about the latest set of PC speakers created by JEECOO, which takes the name of M30, with simple lines and small dimensions, with RGB effects but above all with the possibility of being used in wired mode via USB or Bluetooth. After having them on the desk for a couple of weeks let me tell you a little more about how they sound.

UNBOXING & DESIGN
The unboxing experience is very simple, including only the speaker system protected by bubble wrap and an instruction manual in English inside the sales package. JEECOO M30 is a 2.0 audio system, i.e. it is made up solely of two satellite speakers while the subwoofer is integrated inside the speakers, keeping the overall dimensions down and appearing elegant and unobtrusive on a desk.

These desktop speakers are equipped with two powerful 5W driver units, not an extremely high value, but super suitable for home use. The shape of the speakers is rather traditional and is very reminiscent of Trust's set of RGB speakers, model GXT 609 ZOXA. On the lower surface, the support one, we find 4 silicone rubber pads for greater stability while on the rear profile we find the connection cables between the two speakers and the power cable via USB-A as well as a hole for the integrated subwoofer.

On the front we find an LED strip that offers various RGB effects while on the right speaker, which acts as the master, we have 4 function buttons. The construction materials are completely plastic and unfortunately the first impression is quite "cheap", in my case confirmed by a slight color difference, a sort of smudge, on the upper profile of the left speaker.

OPERATION
As already mentioned, the JEECOO M30 speakers can be connected either to the PC via the USB-A cable which is used to power the speakers, or via the integrated Bluetooth 5.4 module. In this case, for power supply you can use a common 5V/1A or 5V/2A battery charger, not supplied in the package. The connection to the PC is plug & play, so no drivers are needed for installation and above all the compatibility is both on Windows and Linux systems, in this case verified by me, but also on Macintosh. The Bluetooth 5.4 connection, in addition to guaranteeing stability and eliminating any delay between audio and video, allows you to expand the range of use of the speakers, being able to pair smartphones, tablets and all those devices equipped with Bluetooth functionality, such as old MP3s etc. .

The 4 buttons all offer a dual function. Starting from the top, we have the system on and off button via long press, or with a quick click we can switch from wired to Bluetooth mode. The second button, with a long press, allows you to play/pause the music track while with a quick click it offers management of the RGB LEDs.

There are 7 modes offered to create greater involvement in video game scenes or viewing multimedia content: multicolor scrolling, music rhythm, button, fixed red, green, blue light and finally LEDs off, so you can only enjoy the audio released by JEECOO M30. Finally, the third and fourth buttons respectively offer skip of the music track (long press) or volume control (quick press).

I must say that the effect obtained with these M30 speakers is good although the lighting is not powerful, but still sufficiently extensive to create the desired atmosphere, especially if we use the "music rhythm" mode which in some video games combines with the perfection with shots and twists, while for PC work or normal use the fixed light mode is perhaps more suitable.

AUDIO QUALITY
While I wasn't particularly impressed by the build quality of the JEECCO M30, I was instead positively impressed by the audio quality. The metallic speaker drivers produce very clear high and mid tones and deep but never distorted bass. The volume is not high enough to disturb the neighbors but high enough to enjoy multimedia content rich in special effects, fully enjoying the nuances of songs and audio books. We do not find the possibility of equalizing the audio but from the factory the JEECOO company has very well balanced the sound spectrum that comes out of the drivers with a power of 5W.

In wired mode via USB then the delay is practically zero, which really allows the use of the M30 system in gaming activities. Unfortunately or fortunately, we do not have management software that allows us, for example, to better customize the settings. But this helps keep the cost low without sacrificing the audio quality offered by the two speakers.

PROJECTED IMPACT
And we have come to conclusions, which overall are decidedly positive for the JEECOO M30, a simple but functional speaker system, with double possibility of use both via cable and Bluetooth. They do what they have to do excellently, providing clear, full-bodied and satisfying audio.
We do not have features related to smartphone calls, which limits use to recreational purposes only. At a cost of around 30 euros, the solution under consideration is an excellent economical alternative to accompany your PC/laptop. It's certainly not a product for audiophiles, but it doesn't want to be either, and for the job it has to do and the price at which it is offered, trust me, the audio quality is excellent, perhaps even above expectations. The lighting effects are certainly pleasant and make the gaming or music listening experience quite engaging. In short, JEECOO M30 is passed, almost with flying colours.
