A few hours ago Motorola announced that 14 smartphones will receive the update to the latest version of Andoid in the coming months. The news will certainly create discontent, given that owners of a model of the Moto E line will not be able to upgrade their device. The same fate will befall the older devices of the Moto G series: even for the latter Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow will in fact be the latest official version. The complete list does not include the Nexus 6, already updated to Nougat.

The disappointment is strong: Motorola was once praised for timely updates (thanks to the presence of near-stock versions of the operating system on their devices) while now much of the company's line-up will remain cut off. The choice is probably attributable to Lenovo's philosophy that over the years has annihilated Motorola, purchased in 2014, deciding to focus less and less on the latter's devices, as evidenced by the numerous staff cuts made in the last 24 months that have reduced the staff of the Chicago company from 3500 to 500 units.
