The first Redmi Pro was a kind of experiment for Xiaomi. The smartphone adopted a homegrown OLED display and a dual-camera photographic compartment. The exit of the direct successor now seems to be upon us and the confirmation seems to come from a pic leaked online in the last hours thanks to the well-known leaker Kjuma.
The Redmi Pro 2 will no longer be equipped with a dual camera, but with a single lens characterized by the 362 megapixel Sony IMX 12 sensor and Dual Pixel autofocus. The 1 / 2.55 ”Sony sensor is of excellent quality, being equipped with larger pixels (1.4µm) than those of other models such as Mi Note and Mi Mix (1µm). The differences with the first model are not over: in fact, the battery capacity will be further increased, which goes from 4,050mAh to 4,500mAh. The base version of the Redmi Pro 2 with 4Gb of RAM and 64Gb of ROM will cost 1,600 CNY ($ 230 / € 220). A version of the terminal equipped with 6 Gb of RAM and 128 Gb of mass memory will also be marketed, priced at 1,800 CNY ($ 260 / € 245). It is fair to point out that the cost of the 128 Gb version of ROM (and 4 Gb of RAM) of the first Redmi Pro is 2000 CNY. After the arrival of Redmi Pro 2, the "original" Redmi Pro will almost certainly suffer a major price drop.
Interesting.
It remains to be seen the SoC will mount and if it will have the UFS 2.0
Opening will be the classic 2.0, but UFS memory if 2 version is OK
The fact that it supports UFS 2.1 does not however exclude the use of eMMC 5.1
Up until now, UFS has never been used on Redmi. We hope well.
