Lei Jun: Xiaomi's internationalization exceeds expectations

Last November 21 the Chinese State Council held an international press conference on the theme "Reform, openness and development of private economy". The CEO of Xiaomi Lei Jun he accepted an interview of the Chinese media saying that the internationalization of Xiaomi exceeds expectations and that despite this the expansion project does not stop; on the contrary, it will continue to further enhance research and development in the smartphone and IoT fields.

Regarding the economy of private companies Lei Jun said that since the reform and the opening of the Chinese market to the west of 40 years ago, due (or thanks) to the strong competition in the hi-tech sector, it is born a large number of private companies not only Chinese but international: Mr.Jun says that in the world scene they are emerged businesses of the likes of Tencent (third largest company in the world after Google and Amazon that deals with entertainment services, internet and spartphones) and Alibaba (world leading company active in the online market sector), while in the last decade a Asian companies such as Xiaomi, Meituan and Didi are born, which play a very important role in improving the competitiveness of China in the high-tech sectors.

Thanks to the policy of the so-called "Belt and Road Initiative" (BRI) and at the quality-price ratio, Xiaomi has been advantaged in the technology market compared to other companies and in fact in the results just published we see that he had one growth of 112.7%, of which 43.9% thanks to overseas market. But in short, what is the BIS? On the false line of the 丝绸之路 (si chou zhi lu) or "La Via della Seta", the Belt and Road Initiative is a project that brings China to connect with Europe and East Africa and provides two ways, a land that would really touch Europe and a sea. All this has facilitated not poco Xiaomi and we have seen it with its straight leg entry into the European market.

Lei Jun states that the results of Xiaomi's success have exceeded all expectationssince it is a young company and it is not easy for a company to get the results that Xiaomi has had in just 8 years. Xiaomi has entered the market of around 80 countries and has you brought through products, technologies and capital, growth and economic development: this is precisely one of the goals set by the approximately sixty countries that have joined the project for the "construction" of the Belt and Road Initiative. It is a "win-win" method which allows precisely all the countries touched by this link to make their economy even more powerful in a global perspective.

"The Chinese brands will go beyond the national market and will enjoy a worldwide reputation" said Lei Jun. And this statement should make us think about that famous expression that we find on every product on the market, or "Made in China ", since it could really turn into what today means" Made in Italy ", that is quality.
The Chinese industry has its unique advantage in the device construction chain which, combined with Xiaomi's innovative business, could really shake the economy of other big tech companies.

Despite this, the device market furnishings ormai è virtually arrived at saturation and for this reason our CEO Lei Jun says: "Faced with today's difficulties, which we have confidence to overcome, Xiaomi will further increase its research and development efforts, create better products and serve more users worldwide."

And what do you think? Do you believe that a big mobile industry and IoT like Xiaomi could one day transform "Made in China" into "Manufactured in China"? And if so, do you think the market can withstand the blow? Let us know in the comments!
